Hi Maneet, can you make a video on the new update (5.13.7) and show us if there's a way to hide the recommendations/new releases etc? I just updated literally 10 minutes ago and the option that used to be there isn't there anymore and it's annoying as hell.

I just discovered that Libby has the option to send books to your kindle last week, a total game changer!

I looooove Kindle Unlimited. I've saved so much money by just paying a flat 9.99 a month for KU instead of buying the books. It's great. Also I'm pretty sure they just upped their borrow limits from 10 books to 20 books. There was no announcement I could find but I'm well over my 10 book limit and it's still letting me add.

There's various e newsletters that you can subscribe to that showcase free ebooks for all platforms, also, you can search for free ebooks directly on your ereader's particular ebook website and you can find literally thousands of ebooks for free which are always changing and is updated on a daily basis. Sometimes they're only free for one day,so you have to snap them up when they're free. Also, if you like to review books, you can subscribe to book review sites where the author and publisher will provide an advanced reader copy of ebooks for free with the understanding that you will provide your honest review on Amazon or another website that they choose.

You definitely want to check the top 100 free once a week. Every once and a while a great recent book pops on there for limited time.

I read technical books almost exclusively. It's worth reading Amazon reviews of books to discover formatting problems with these books in their Kindle versions. I want to warn people Kindle versions of technical books are often unreadable or so badly marred by bad formatting that reading them is intolerable. My first choice for free books, and where I start almost any research, is my local library system. Few Kindle books are available there. My library system recently is favoring Hoopla for its ebooks. My Kindle Paperwhite won't handle Hoopla ebooks. My next e-reader must handle the Hoopla format with a minimum of fuss. (Note: my phone text writer automatically produced "e-reader." Is "ereader" more widespread these days?)

I used to go to that "100 Free books" and now have 1000s of books that I've never read and been in my Amazon library for years. I no longer go to the 100 free. :-) Every once in a while I go to get/read a book and find that I already have it. LOL
You don't have to email MOBI files, you can side load just by dropping (copy/paste) onto your USB connected Kindle which connects to computer like a hard drive.

So I created a WishList on Amazon called "Books" and put all my wishlist books there, based on booktok/friend recommendations etc. Every morning I scroll through them and see what has been put on sale. You never know. Sometimes best sellers go on sale for super cheap, even ones that are currently trending can drop down to 2.99 for a day. It's a nice ritual I have and it feels like a fun find when that book you've been interested in has a sudden price drop. Dont pay more than 5 bucks for a kindle book, guys. Be patient! And thank you, Maneetpaul! I have grabbed my first Amazon FirstRead, and will be notified every month now.
