Hey, MAx! Just viewed your piece on PBS. I rejoice in your excellent intentions and good efforts to help others. But.....I must say, why why why have you not consulted with a Dr. of Oriental Medicine? I have to say, you are missing the essential element of health without the foundational principles of Asian medicine. Find an expert to help you there, Dude! Yes, I.m available, but so too are others. I sincerely encourage you to go deeper into helping others and round out your information this way. Best wishes!

Question for Max: I read your book (listened to the audiobook) Genius Foods. You mention that being in a non insulin producing state for as long as possible is good. Drinking water first thing in the morning is recommended. My question: Will drinking water that has a small (trace) amount of pureed veggies in it and/ or lemon juice cause my body to produce insulin?
I puree a green drink with carrots, cucumber, celery, spinach, kale, parsley and mint to drink each morning. I expect drinking it will trigger insulin production. But before I drink it, I rinse the blender with water and then drink that water. Will that water, with the small amount of greens from rinsing the blender, start the morning production of insulin? I am type 2 diabetic that I control with diet only. My last A1c was 6.5. I want to try to improve my insulin resistance by holding off production of insulin as long as possible before my breakfast (before I break my overnight fast) . Thanks!
