Vintage finish??
ОтветитьVery nice horn
ОтветитьHow would you compare this to the Yamaha custom-z?
ОтветитьHow does it play rock/pop tunes like Richard Marx (Endless Summer Nights), Eddie Money (Take Me Home Tonight), Gerry Rafferty (Bakersfield), etc? Also, is there that big a difference in the sound between the dark lacquer and the cognac finish?
ОтветитьHello there dear Scott. I was always wondering how it feels to play on metal key touches. How was your switching from pearl to metal key touches? Looks weird to me. I love your content. Keep it going. Greetings from Bulgaria. Stefan
ОтветитьScott, I like the way that your dark finished 67RX sounds but would like to know the difference betweens coatings. I am interested in the UL version. I enjoy the dark sound of the big bell, special neck and thought the UL would have a darker/fuller sound. Can you describe the difference between the UL and the model you play? Thank you.
ОтветитьGreat Sound ! what mic equipment do you use Scott ?
ОтветитьIs your Sax PM 67RX model the same as the Alto PMXA 67R, and if no, what's the difference?
ОтветитьQue marca saxofon es??? Suena mui bonito
ОтветитьScott, did your RX Influence play well right out of the box or did you have a saxophone tech make adjustments? I have read that the quality of their saxophones is outstanding.
ОтветитьNice sounds and teaching videos, I come from Taiwan and used 67R.
ОтветитьHi Scott, what type of mouth piece are you using with your 67RX? I have a Yamaha YAS 52, and I recently got a custom-made mouth piece but still I got problems reaching my lower bottom notes (B &Bb) easily. I got all the pads replaced a year ago at a great cost to me but the sound is not all that great. Do you think it's time to thrash this 1997 horn for a new one? lol
ОтветитьDesde argentina queria preguntarle que boquilla usa?? Hermoso saxofon me gustaria comprar uno
ОтветитьNice horn! I used own a Taiwanese horn and had such a hard time playing in tube so I switched over to Yanagisawa. However, you sound great on PM.
ОтветитьI have the tenor version of this horn and its actually killing me. The action is really heavy and it hurts my fingers. And i find it really hard to play cleanly on this mechanism, it does sound great though...
ОтветитьHow does this horn differ from the System 76? They're pretty close in price. I know the 67R has rolled tone holes, but what are the other differences? And is the "Influence" 67R much different from the regular 67R? Right now, I'm leaning towards a System 76 UL. But I'm torn because the 67R seems pretty great too. And they're in the same 2800-3400 price range so I'm having a tough time deciding.
ОтветитьLove your videos and dig your sound, but I have to ask, are you sponsored in any way by P. Mauriat? 🤔
ОтветитьWhat kínd of mouthpice do you use?
ОтветитьHi Scott, I've just upgraded from my Yamaha YAS 280 and bought a P. Mauriat System 76 2nd Edition. My first impression is that the horn looks great and it feels quite solid and is definitely heavier than my Yamaha. I`m not a pro but I can definitely tell this is a very different horn than what I`m used to playing. There is something concerning me though quite a lot. It is much harder to blow than my Yamaha. I don`t think there are any leaks; all the notes play OK. I tried the P. Mauriat horn with my Yamaha neck and it seemed to blow a lot more freely. So it could be related to the neck, or does all this sound normal? The sound is definitely much more smoother than the Yamaha and when I play notes without the octave key it sound very nice like what I understand a vintage sound should sound like, but it seems like I've lost something at the top end. I should also mention that the horn has not been setup, it came direct from the factory.
Any advise you can offer would be much appreciated.
hi Scott, i have already got a alto Gerald albright signature series sax in silver colour and i love everything about it,, cost £1850 second hand, but immaculate..
just to mention i am an amateur and having lessons still but now i want to buy a tenor, i tend to favour looks as equal to how the sax sounds and performs over lesser sax's, can you advise on the favoured P Mauriat 76 tenor system vintage ,? they look absolutely great just as my alto does too, my starter sax was student sax £237
4 years ago and now of-course its not capable of my progression in playing ability.. and so i bought my GA alto.
i love the sound of the PM alto sax that you have, clear and crisp is my analogy..can you comment on the tenor please. TIA.... Daz
Hey scott I want your MP 😂
ОтветитьRecently went to a jazz con and got to try out a bunch of saxs from Antigua, cannonball, Yamahas, and even rampone cazzanis, but the one sax that stood out was all of the p. Mauriat, especially the 67rx influence. It has the best tone in all ranges, a very stable low register and an easy to play but also controllable high range. It has a naturally dark tone which I instantly noticed and fell in love with. This is definitely a dream horn for me right now, probably something I’d pass down generation to generation. Now the question is which lacquer
ОтветитьHey Scott, my name is Malique Wilkerson and I'm a college student majoring in Music Education. I'm currently looking to upgrade from my student model Yamaha to a professional model horn. I'm stuck between P. Mauriat and Selmer. I've tried both brands and I'm leaning towards the P. Mauriat. What are your thoughts?
Ответитьi've never seen you play a tenor
ОтветитьWow! Great sounding horn!
ОтветитьWhat was that jazz lick that he played??
ОтветитьI know this is an old video, but I saw you respond on Instagram that you had a strong dislike for Cannonball Saxophones. Any particular reasons why?
ОтветитьI’m getting this
ОтветитьI very like This sounds :)
ОтветитьScott, try out the Gerald Albright signature series from Cannonball. Also a big bell.
ОтветитьI purchased the p mauriat 67 r and Eastman 52nd Street
They play really great
Man, there seem like so many good horns these days. In my day there was Selmer and that was it. Yamaha was just getting decent back in the 1990s. I played Series II alto for years. Experimented with a Yanagisawa bronze horn, but eventually went to a Series II before I quit playing.
I wish some of these horns were around when I was coming up in the 1990s.
What is that Latin song?
ОтветитьDo you have a P. Mauriat tenor that you recommend?
ОтветитьSounds a lot like a MkVI. Has a big sound for an Alto. Which brand of Tenor / Soprano do you blow?
ОтветитьI need to get off my sad accent alto
ОтветитьHi Scott! How is the intonation between P. Mauriat 67r alto and Yamaha YAS 62 ? Please give me an advice! Thank you.
ОтветитьSorry but yo can speak about what michrophone do you used?
ОтветитьHi Scott..!! What are the alto sax models you know that give more "body" to the sound?? Would it be this p.mauriat?? If so, is there another brand that is equally with this" body" ?? Greetings from Brazil!!
ОтветитьHey Scott! Have you tried the Signature Custom RAW and RAW XS altos by Trevor James and what are your thoughts on them?
I'm considering those and the P Mauriat 76 unlacquered.
Hope to hear your insights thanks! :)
I'm in the market and you just added a whole nother facett to my search. Looks good, thanks. PS. Love the show.
ОтветитьAnd it was free? 😂😂😂
ОтветитьWhat’s the difference between the 67R and the 67RX?
ОтветитьSounds great Scott.
Think I'll end up with one.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I can 2nd that along with other things like the ergonomics on that horn are great. The notes are a little easier to reach and quick. It’s not so heavy, and last, he forgot to mention the price, which is priced lower than other professional models. I also recommend you try one. You won’t be sorry.
ОтветитьHi Scott, excellent! I ask you, how important is the mouthpiece? Thanks from Argentina.
ОтветитьSo.. here we are 4 1/2 years later. Are you still digging the horn?
ОтветитьIm picking one up K
