Well said Todd! I agree 100%

And yes, it is quite ridiculous!

Great topic and positioning. Also, education comes from repetition. So that's another reason why it's relevant to repeat knowledge (even if somebody already talked about it once).

Thanks for keeping the videos coming Todd. We love it, and soon a lot more entrepreneurs are going to find your channel when looking for the real thing.

Hi Todd, if you have the chance, you will have to ask the administrator of this Facebook group a simple question. You'll have to ask him what his business is?

To find out if he himself invented what he makes money for today. You never know, maybe it was some kind of Henry Ford who invented the car. Or a Nicolas Tesla to invent alternating current.

A good friend of mine found a Jordan Peterson article that was published before this said person did a video on it and it was almost word for word. So it's definitely hypocritical. And I completely agree with what you're saying. I'd be happy if people take what I am teaching, getting great results, improving upon my method, and teaching it themselves. All the best for everyone.

Love it, Todd. Thank you. :)

In that particular group

Most Marketers: "You shouldn't complain about other marketers and what they do. Broke people do that."

The Same Marketers: proceed to complain about anybody and everybody and what they do

Like the content but your title and thumbnail are click baity. Plus, if someone hasn't watched the video, they'll probably think Hormozi was involved in a theft of some sort. Try not to use such titles

Yeah, that post made me chuckle a bit. You hit the nail on the head, if someone can add value by offering old wine in a new bottle, then it's helpful.

The worst thing is that Alen in the fb group didn't say "hey guys, he didn't steal anything, it's all derivative because that's the marketing game"

The part that makes the person unique is their particular combination of derivatives. And everyone once and a while, you get people who expand ideas further.

Ideas are not owned by anyone. Products & businesses are.

You can not OWN a topic. It makes no sense

Yeah that person leading that Facebook group just created more unnecessary dependency by creating the illusion of simplicity, big outcomes and minimal effort. But really it's leading people to limitations by creating false expectations of the effort required and leaving our details intentionally so people have to pay to access more. They give them half a cookie method that is getting old quickly.

Great video, I 100% percent agree, the foundations of marketing are already established, and anything new comes from other fields anyway, like neuroscience, psychology, etc.. And most times, this new stuff just offers explanations as to why some things we do, actually work.
I loved the energy and the vibe of the video btw, great video.

I think basically almost EVERYONE watching this video is either missing the point (just like the people who think you can build a great business just by being a great marketer, without being a great entrepreneur) or blatantly supporting the concept of being totally unethical for the sake of marketing. Listen:

It's no secret that there's nothing new under the sun. Everyone gets that. So that's not the problem.

Here's the problem:

When you get stuff from other people, you should give credit where credit is due. Give credit to your sources. Not just passing it off as your own. That's just the right thing to do. And someone who I think does this really well is Ben Settle. He basically always gives credit where credit is due. He'll openly (and consistently) tell how he learned everything he knows from people like Matt Furey, Jim Camp, Dan Kennedy, Ken McCarthy, Gary Bencivenga, and more.

Another guy who does this really well is Tai Lopez. Whenever he quotes something, he'll always mention which mentor he learned it from, or which book he read it from.

Why are we defending jokers who take ideas from people like Theodore Levitt, Dan Kennedy, Jay Abraham, and more... and using it without so much as a word of thanks... passing it off as their own... baiting you to buy more and more of their stuff if you want to find out more stuff that they didn't even come up with or add any significant value to?

The fact that it's unethical isn't even the worst part.

The worst part is:

You're doing a great disservice to your clients when you don't link back to the original source due to the "game of telephone" effect. Because every time information passes from one person to another, the message is diluted and diluted and diluted, and warped, and transmuted... to the point of uselessness!

Thus, it's always better to learn key concepts from "higher up the stream" than lower down. And not acknowledging this is totally doing disservice to the long-term benefit of your clients.

Haha yeah I'm in that group too and I saw the post. Unfortunately everyone in that specific group practices a bit too much guru worship. They hate to think that they're great leader wasn't the first person to express an idea.

There's no new idea aout there, what changes is the angle from which the information is conveyed.

We've had so many names of our products stolen by others. But I tend to believe that they dont' even realize they took from us. They saw it. Liked it. It went into their long term memory but forgetting it's source. And when they came up with a new program or product, they had this brilliant idea of what to do call it. They think it's their idea, but it's not.
