Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

I think Dr. Hahn summarized it really well at the end of the stream. It was really inspiring to hear this honest conversation.
ОтветитьWilliam James once said that since there is no proof for the existence of God one way or another, then "act according to what you wish were true."
Ответитьthank you, Dr. Hahn.
ОтветитьI am wondering how Protestants question Catholicism and the Papacy, but don't question Martin Luther, the man that their faith started with? Do they feel that Martin Luther had the power and prophecy to split from the Catholic church and bring all these followers with him?
ОтветитьScott Hahn is one of the reasons that I became more of a Catholic than I was. I listened to his CDs and Father Don Calloway and Father Allar. This looks like it's 2 years old have you become Catholic?
ОтветитьIf I'm evangelizing to Protestants, I always talk to them about the lives of the Saints and the 'State of Grace.' It's important to explain the latter because if you aren't in a state of Grace/legally bound by sin you can't receive nearly as much Grace as Catholics. All source of Grace comes from the Tabernacle in the Mystical Body of Christ, so if Catholics aren't in Grace, we give less Grace to the world. The list is never ending...
ОтветитьMatt's Ninja Moves - letting Cameron sit with Scott and discuss perhaps his last objection to Catholicism 😁 not sure exactly how long after this conversation before Cameron converted.
ОтветитьYou could never have a conversation like this with men like John MacArthur, Ray Comfort, Todd Friel, et al. They have such hatred for the Church that they refuse to sit down for discussions like this, they simply present their edicts and you obey or not.
ОтветитьSo curious to hear where this concept of the davidic kingdom connects with modern day zionism and the desire for the return of the kingdom. I acknowledge that we tie the tabernacle to the holy of holies and the new heaven stuff. But does this have a direct connection to Judaism today?
ОтветитьGot to hear this today, the Feast of the Chair of Peter 2024, great meditation for this feast day.
ОтветитьI think Catholics who have problem with divine simplicity, can start by looking into essence-energy distinction (Orthodox theology), then through that perspective you can start to explore more of why divine simplicity is also true from a different POV (Thomistic). Both divine simplicity and essence-energy distinction is necessary to explain The Trinity.
ОтветитьDr Hahn is just brilliant!
ОтветитьI have been Protestant almost my whole life. But Catholicism has been chasing me. 😬 I’m kinda just scared lol
ОтветитьSomeone once sent me links to James White videos in an effort to straighten me out when considering Catholicism.. he basically sent me running at full speed to the Catholic Church. I suggest Cameron consult with him
ОтветитьBeautiful description of the primacy of Peter, your sound bite is "the first among equals." This is what the Pope is amongst the Bishops of the church. But Scott Hahn obviously explains it so elegantly.
ОтветитьI'm wondering if Cameron has begun to regularly pray the Rosary as an aid to his discernment. Over the course of three years I worked through my own list of objections to Orthodox and Catholic claims. Although I did not think to numerically calculate the probability of the Catholic church's claim to the Pope's primacy (brilliant thought!), I did believe the issue was an important, if not the most important issue to discern between Orthodoxy and Catholicism (I was an Anglican at the time and had already abandoned the protestant claims against both churches). The Holy Spirit led our family to a group of Western Rite Orthodox families who were praying the Rosary together while beginning a Western Rite mission. (My husband was an Anglican priest so Western Rite Orthodoxy seemed to be the "natural" place to settle.) Although, I didn't have a relationship with Our Lady at the time, and wasn't really even happy about praying the Rosary, the surrender of my (our) faith into her capable and loving hands was ultimately what unveiled the truth of the Catholic claims to us over time. Our family entered the church together in 2020, we are formally members of the Personal Ordinariate of the chair of St. Peter but because there is no parish near us we primarily worship at our local Byzantine Catholic parish. Anyway I just wanted to share my family's experience with conversion and encourage Cameron to pray the Rosary as he continues his discernment. My willingness to pray the Rosary was based upon the veneration given to her by Orthodox and Catholic alike and that the worst that could happen in praying the Rosary was nothing special would transpire. 😂
ОтветитьNotice it is ideology first and theology second.. while professor here speculates, admits to collegiality in the bible, but pathetically speaks about little movements of peter that may insinuate he is a leader, with the bible never ever calling him a leader of the apostles cause christ is the head of the church, not a human being.. this form of idolatry is a thorn for a christian trying to pursue a trully christian life, without a human acting like a god on earth... has no precedence in the bible but is a medieval invention. He also admits their were bishops in Rome.... LAUGHTER. all bishops claim apostolic tradition and succession, otherwise this is blasphemy, but the professor is looking for the post 11th century appellation of infallible bishop title that has no recourse or basis in the bible or sound theological reasoning.. NOTICE AT 1.14 the professor contradicts himself and now instates that bishops have apostolic succession where before he inferred that the bishops of italy were diminished in authority because they were not'successors. to peter" he is not speaking here of auxiliary bishops , but bishops installed as exarchate bishops of the city of Rome... who only had authority for italy, until the franks and lombards made the pope , a universal authoritarian ..
ОтветитьI laugh at the foolishness of assigning the pope as Authoritarian ....confusing medieval forgeries . barbarian ideologies for the church of christ.. The leader of the Apostles was Christ in Heaven not a Feudal lord given both temporal and spiritual realms by some german warlord barbarian wanting more land and forcing the early church to become a feudal hierarchy of privilege. papal claims began as a way for the barbarians to wrestle away the traditional and apostolic authority that was given to the church of all time.. Notice the Man subscribe to the Atheist notion of a gradual consensus ... but the church is consistent right? The west's notion of first amongst equals was by honour was given to rome and constantinople but had to adhere to the synodal structure that was established by the apostles through the council of Jerusalem before Byzantium.. The Roman state merely continued the tradition of the Synodal structure of the church through Byzantium..until the Franks modified this structure in defiance of the church
ОтветитьCan you tell me the blue book that Dr. Hahn brought with him? I think it is about Papal history.
ОтветитьBiblical Proof the seventh day (Saturday) IS the Sabbath
Matt 27:62 The next day, the one after Preparation Day......(.Saturday)
Mat 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, (Sunday)
Mark 15:42 - It was Preparation Day (that is, the day before the Sabbath).
Mark 16:1-2 - When the Sabbath was over,(After sunset Saturday)
Mark 16:9 When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week (Sunday)
Luke 23:54 It was Preparation Day, (friday) and the Sabbath was about to begin
Luke 23:56 Then they went home and prepared spices and perfumes. But they rested on the Sabbath in obedience to the commandment.( Just before sunset Friday)
Luke 24:1 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, (Sunday)
John 19:31 Now since it was preparation day (Friday), in order that the bodies might not remain on the cross on the sabbath, for the sabbath day of that week was a solemn one,
John 19:42 because of the Jewish day of Preparation (Friday), since the tomb was close at hand, they laid Jesus there. 42 And so, because it was the day of preparation for the Jewish Passover

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.--unquote
Obviously you have NO understanding of that verse!!!!
READ IT AGAIN!!! "he who comes to Me will not hunger"- his body
"he who believes in Me will never thirst.-"--His blood!!!
Whomever FOLLOWS Jesus will NOT hunger--due to His words!!!
Whomever BELIEVES in Jesus will NOT THIRST--due to His words!!!
Communion
How do you labor for the food that endures to eternal life? Believe in me! (John 6:27, 29) “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me [in faith] shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35) “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” (John 6:40) “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.” (John 6:47)
--------------------------------
When the crowd took offense at his gruesome talk, Jesus exposed their unbelief: “The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But there are some of you who do not believe” (John 6:63–64).
Why do Catholic priests NEVER talk about these facts?
About the catholic church: Change the Sabbath"
Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her,- she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday, the seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority."- "A Doctrinal Catechism," by Rev. Stephen Keenan, page 174.
Why do Catholic priests NEVER talk about this verse?
Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus. Revelation 14:12
Why do Catholic priests NEVER talk about these verses?
Here’s the thing-- the Bible, at least the parts relevant to this discussion-- the Torah-- is written in Hebrew and in Hebrew, our words for the days of the week are incredibly prosaic and simple.
Sunday is “Yom Rishon”, which literally means “1st day”. Monday is “Yom Sheini”, which literally means “second day”. What do you think “Yom Shlishi” means? Yes, “Third day” and yes, it’s Tuesday. Let’s skip ahead to “Yom Shishi”, the 6th day- Friday. Well now, what about the Seventh day? Well, we call that one “Shabbat”- the Sabbath.
What does it mean that the "Papacy is true"? Why and how is that important?
ОтветитьWatching this for the first time, glad to see that Cameron converted. I'm going to have to check out his videos on his conversion.
ОтветитьCatholic by probability? That’s out their.
ОтветитьHallow got me into prayer life. I can not go a day without Hallow.
ОтветитьThis is just such a good discussion. I love the papacy. For those interested, Queenship Publishing issued what I think is the definitive work on the subject, "Jesus, Peter, and the Keys." I get nothing from recommending it. I just hope it helps searching people or those into Catholic apologetics.
ОтветитьWelcome Home, Catholics who've come into the Church.
ОтветитьI love camerons questions about popes being held to standard above average. Our current globalist pope has my head spinning.
ОтветитьMy husband became catholic ( from Lutheran) bur hasn't studied or learned anything since very simple RCIA He won't read , won't listen , misses mass goes to communion . Won't listen to me. ( I'm his wife what do I know!. Any suggestions?
ОтветитьPeter’s Wisdom and reputation among the Apostles is not and has never been disputed, but this interpretation of Acts 15 is Olympic intellectual gymnastics. Peter’s leadership of the council was so great and phenomenally applied that he he led by not leading. He had a voice, James, Paul, Barnabas and Judas along with all the others in attendance not mentioned by name also had a voice. It’s their combined voices that was pleasing to the Holy Spirit. More importantly this conciliatory model is what the Church relied on for a thousand years of 7 Ecumenical Councils to determine Truth from Heresy. What Roman Catholics need to explain is why neither Peter nor his successors ended this tradition before 1054.
ОтветитьAnd...... orthordox?
ОтветитьWhat a brilliant gifted teacher Dr. Hahn is. 💜
ОтветитьI don’t understand the need for metrics, etc. Dr Hahn’s skeleton analogy is incredible. Such a patient response. When he so beautifully outlined historical human weakness whether in papacy or OT kings, so seamless and off the cuff, I just shake my head in awe. A great man for our times. Me? I just can’t get past Cameron’s inability to absorb the wisdom he hears.
ОтветитьResponse on contraception for you. Sex is supposed to be a thing you ONLY do after marriage and women's cycles can be mapped or kept track of for the most part. So you should be able to figure out which days a woman is fertile and really there are only like 2 to 5 days of the year. Which means you can decide via thus when to engage in intercourse to produce a child. But well the whole sex is meant for pleasure only crap got put into our heads probably by some overzealous men because let's face it work goes into a woman's satisfaction there. But whi wants to work and .are a lasting connection to live a life with one human being anymore no it's all about how many times you did a day or week not about commitment love and building a life. That is why we are against contraception, abortion and all of that.
ОтветитьRight now I'm feeling very close to accepting the doctrines of Catholicism or Orthodoxy, but I'm not as sure about that for the Catholic and Orthodox Churches.
