This episode has just freaked me out!! I had a dog named Zuider Zee...she passed at 8 years old. I have always liked the z sound. There was a song that was beautiful sung by Steve Goodman (written by Mike Smith I think) called The Dutchman.There was a mention about the region in The Netherlands called the Zuider Zee in it. The day we rescued her we were listening to that song and it just seemed right to name her that. She died with bone cancer and so did my friend that found her as well as her Great Pyrenees named DogZilla, both (dogs and friend within 5 years) at a very young age. I also I have a Zelda and and a Jezebel (z's in both names). I named Zelda after F. Scott Fitzgerald's wife who was a little nuts. Our dog Zelda was a little nuts. Seemed appropriate but she is really a love bug, but has had many strange ailments. One being ITP when she started bleeding out spontaneously (the cornea of her eyes filled up with blood...she almost died and cost us a fortune to save her...but a very rare problem to have). Then there is my African Grey Parrot Zuri..(supposed to mean Beautiful in Swahili). I can't begin to tell you the things that I have experienced since adding these animals to my life over the last almost 2 decades. Now I am wondering if the Z names have had an influence. I hope not but can't help but really consider never using a Z in name again. I hope I am just over reacting.

At 12or 13yrs old, did an Ouija Board session with 3 other friends during a sleep-over...this was during the worst of the killing of U.S. military in Vietnam (1969/1970), we each wore a metal bracelet with the name of a serviceman MIA as our only ability (at that age) to protest the war. Even wearing them were considered counter-establishment - we were too young to go to Washington in protest marches, but simply wearing the bracelets pissed off our right-wing parents.
Within 10 minutes we 'connected' with an entity, a soldier who died horribly in a gun battle between N. Vietnamese Army and his platoon. He spelled out both his name and province he had died in, as well as a few details. We looked at each other and unanimously (without a spoked word) ended the session. I've never picked up another planchet or opened an Ouija Board box, I doubt any of the others have. It was too real, too specific, and too immediate with every answer spelled out to have been simply one of us screwing with the rest - I don't remember the name of the soldier, except it started with a 'J' and he died approx. 1968/1969.
I've thought of him / his spirit often in the 45 years since - I hope he's at rest.

However, regarding the couple Kathleen and Darren, I noticed you said she could have been out of her mind, but not possessed. I think you hit the nail on the head. There are other stages of being controlled by demonic forces besides violent possession, such as seen in films. There is "oppression" and even a less obvious kind of possession, where the victim hides their true state. it may come out only during an exorcism, when the demon fights the exorcist and the forces of Christianity. The demon can influence thinking and actions and even lead to suicide or murder on the part of the victim.

I saw a video once about a mother who was possessed. She was taking her young teenaged son by car to a friend's house, I think because she knew something was inside her and she wanted to get help from the friend.
On the way to their destination, she stopped looking at the road and paying attention to driving. She started to speed up and swerve and stared at her son in a sinister way. Somehow, they survived the journey, but i can only imagine how terrifed her son must have been. When she was at the friend's house, an exorcism was arranged. The full strength of the possession was then revealed.

Many years ago. I was in college and we were in our dorm room. Not many people were on the hall that night most people went out. It was in 1988 or 89 a few friends and I decided to use the ouija board to yes you guessed it contact a dead rock star. No one knew that we were going to do this session it was very unplanned. We saw a little movement, not too much. I can’t remember exactly what was spelled out. However I do remember the pay phone ringing out in the hall. It nearly scared us to death. It rang and rang. So we went to answer it. It was crackley and static on the line. Faintly I heard the song Break On Through to The Other Side playing. My friends heard it to. All of us heard it, but only one other girl knew that it was the Doors singing. So when we explained it all of us were freaked out. I don’t remember what else happened after that but there was some further communication but nothing else happened with the phone.
