turbo lag got him good haha
ОтветитьIf iam honest think the fiesta a bit disappointing that after 30 years it's only 3 half seconds faster than a car that bigger longer weighs more. Give me the cossy any day. Over st shite
ОтветитьJESUS! a half second is a country mile in a car race, 3 1/2 seconds faster? Hmm? don`t bring a knife to a gunfight!
ОтветитьNot a fan of that ugly duckling cosworth at all
ОтветитьWould have the escort all day long, but you got to respect the little fiesta it's an excellent piece of kit 👌
ОтветитьDid the Cossie been revised and got all parts replaced in a way that engine compression and suspension, for instance, be comparable in age, to the Fiesta? We all know that, with passing time, many parts of the vehicle lose their characteristics and properties, quite relevant for a test like that one!
Ответитьi would take a cossie over that awfull ST every day of the week , bought one brand new together with a mate and non of our engines made it past 25k kilomers. drove em in for around 5k but these 3 cilinder engines aren't build to last.
i own a Sierra Cosworth and a fiesta MK5 ST , great cars build to last , this can not be said about this new ST
He's a prat
ОтветитьCossie is way more tunable though. I mean it’s just a detuned racing car and uses a race engine
ОтветитьFord should build modern Escort RS , I think it would rip off the competition.
Ответить80’s and 90’s cars were fantastic, Renault 5 GTT, Sierra cosworth, E30 325i sport, 205 GTI the list is endless, I think the golf r set the standard for modern day hot hatches with 300bhp now you have the likes of an RS3 and a45 with 400Bhp 🤪
ОтветитьCossie engine will still work after 60k miles!
Ответитьbad driver? 🤣
ОтветитьFake time
Ответитьno wonder the fiesta won he drove the escort like a old lady
ОтветитьCossie all day long
ОтветитьThe cossie is a lot heavier due to the size of the car and the four wheel drive system, and it would do better off... road
Ответитьhave to wonder, what would it be if the Cossie had modern tyres?
ОтветитьI have a Fiesta st mk8 running 260 ps Mountune . I liked the Escort cosworth in its day , time moves on I’m afraid. I wouldn’t want a cosworth because they rotted.
Ответить95 is a shiiiit
ОтветитьEven if the Fiesta was twice as quick it would be the cosworth each time for me
ОтветитьStill the cossie for me!
ОтветитьAm I the only one thinking that it was the FOCUS that replaced the Escort? So why test it against the Fiesta?
ОтветитьThe Cossie is still my number 1 car in my lottery winning dream garage and I was lucky enough to drive it on single track roads in Scotland and to be driven in at 150 mph. To think my Mini JCW had more bhp and was a great car but not a patch on the Escort but the world has moved on and I now have 400 ps on tap and no turbo lag and four wheel drive in my i-Pace which is bonkers really.
ОтветитьBoth these cars can be mapped to be considerably faster.
ОтветитьThe earlier 1.6 was better in the ST.
Ответить27 years from now will be a dreary crossover full ev. Sadly the fiesta is already a relic. I want one next and will use it sparingly. Fear prices will rocket soon.
ОтветитьEhhh id have the Cossie all day long
ОтветитьFord today has managed to banish herself. Killed the Fiest and the Focus for what? An SUV that has the name of a coupé. Maybe there is a pickup worth buying but as of today even used cars of old... Yeah nah. I respect the old cars but their mentality is what I condemn and that move is just a greedy one. I just can't stand greediness. SUVs were specifically engineered and studied by the marketing to make money. They were never intended to be made for you, they were made for them.
ОтветитьYou’d still buy the Cossie though 🤷🏻♂️
ОтветитьCossie for nice days in the summer, Fiesta for everyday use 😁
ОтветитьGreat video - I love JP’s driving
ОтветитьThe cosworth is the ultimate Ford regardless to the newer RS Focus, still not a patch on the old Cossie
ОтветитьAdd a sports package to the cossie then see how quick she goes. The st will mean slow turd
ОтветитьPerformances Pack?
ОтветитьI hill climbed in all cossie and Lotus carlton would walk away from all and if you want to see your maker early go racing in mercedes cossie ,scary
ОтветитьYou have to learn how to drive a turbo car instead of complaining about the lag. The lag makes it fun IF you can drive.
ОтветитьI do feel like the few mess ups with wide turns didnt help with the cos, but i would always go with that over some ST
ОтветитьThat escort cosworth was such an iconic British little hot hatch, as well as being one of the most iconic cars in WRC group a
ОтветитьMeanwhile back in reality, the stock Cosworth can easily be tweaked to produce 4-500 Bhp. The 3 cylinder ST will be lucky to reach 100k on the clock without blowing up. What Plato isn't highlighting is that the 1.5 3 cylinder engine with a turbo is highly stressed and it will not rack up high mileage. Lots of Eco-boost small capacity engines have been blowing up as the mileage has racked up on them. The Cosworth Escort, was, is and always will be a LEGEND. The ST is s soulless FWD also ran. Given the choice between the two, it's a no-brainer, Cosworth by a country mile, it has huge character and presence. Nobody gives an ST a second glance on the road, or at a petrol station.
Ответить500cc less, only 3 pistons and more than 3 seconds faster 😂😂😂😂 and some moroon would pay 50k+ for something an old relic like a cosworth
ОтветитьWould take the escort all day the looks 4wd whale tail fiesta St Just doesn't have that flair at all.
ОтветитьCosworth all day long.
ОтветитьRip ford hot hatches
ОтветитьThat wasnt a hot lap it was a luke warm one
ОтветитьDid own one have another one anytime before the fiesta got 1986 sierra cosworth hatch that im on restoring 😊
ОтветитьCars were cars in those day not computers like nowadays 😮
ОтветитьI would have neither. All about the mk7 fiesta st. The newer one don’t look as aggressive as my mk7
Ответить
