The story of Amy Winehouse is such a sad one. And I bet what made it harder for her was that she was always singing about the more negative aspects of her life. the fact that she put so much into her music meant that she poured her soul into singing about the bad times. That can't have been easy for her. i bet singing about the bad times only made it harder for Amy to get clean and find something happy to sing about.

The reason he waited till Alex's bar mitzvah is most likely cause since Alex will be going into adulthood (in the jewish faith), he could be the man of the house and Mitch could leave the family. The only reason I think this cause I went to a catholic school and religious studies was necessary so we learnt about judaism and stuff

One thing I’ve noticed with Amy’s parents over the years and endless interviews and documentaries is that they’re so delusional and dismissive. They say “you couldn’t tell Amy what to do” … well as a parent from the start you’re supposed to be a guiding and authoritative figure but they weren’t at all. I feel like there was lack of discipline when she was an infant and then she was just hard to enforce any order as she grew older & didn’t have a relationship with either of them that supported her young mind through the divorce.

There’s something wrong when your child is uncontrollable and then has all these issues under the age of 16. An ED and anti depressants and whatever else …

Obviously who Amy was and her experiences made her the artist she became. So sassy and vivid and free … but all of that can still be a thing with healthy parent child relationships, boundaries & love.

People blame Blake for her getting into hard drugs and that’s one issue, but not the issue she died of. And was clean for a few years from drugs. She died of her excessive alcohol abuse that started before Blake and before fame and that’s when she needed her parents… they let her run wild and when she became an adult lost even more power and became more delusional. They absolutely pussyfooted around her

He didn’t have a successful career so he used Amy’s and no thought of how Amy felt or what she was going through !

Sorry why are you saying her parents didnt help? theres countless interviews with both of them where they talk about all the therapy/medication her parents provided to help her out but amy was amy ands it didnt work.

I'm 30 and my Dad died suddenly last year... and Dad and mum split when I was 2 years old and lived far away so I mostly stayed with him during summer only growing up. My mom has severe adhd and wont admit it. So do I! We have a very strained relationship due to conflict of living. She was never there for me emotionally and so I totally understand and think no one should have kids if they cant help them emotionally or otherwise.... I used to get my emotional help from strangers online who became my friends instead. :/ I'm still stuck with my mom as I cant afford to move out on my own even though I want to so badly. I never did drugs but instead i escape via video games and food so I'm overweight and that sucks in itself as its unhealthy too. I'm trying but i know id succeed if i lived alone.

Amy was borderline, so what you say about Blake giving her drugs to help her numb is unreal, normally psychos or people with personality disorders get together cause they attract each other, they both had them in them to be addicts, she went for a toxic addicted boyfriend cause she was also an addict. I think Blake is a cow, but blaming him for Amy's fall is quite ignorant. Addicts want to inconciously hang around with other addicts, their personalities disorders make them drawn to each other, same kind of trauma. Actually Blake said in an interview how the first time Amy asked to smoke heroin he tried to stop her, but to be honest if you are with someone that consumes the likeliness is that you end up consuming. I think It could've been the other way. I also think she was attracted to men that were uninterested in her as long as they could not get anything from her, surrounded by narcissists. It's more her father's fault than Blake's who was fucked up in the head to begin with.
