I've always been confused about whether Soft Gel Gloss would be just as good of a top coat as Polymer Medium Gloss? One reason is that every time I look at the price of Polymer Medium Gloss I have a heart attack.

I put some of golden's crackle paste on a piece of wood, let it dry, but no crackling happened. Did I miss a step?

Hi! Thank you for the informative video. I've been experimenting with crackle paste and acrylic paint, but I'm having trouble achieving an affect. I guess you'd call it a puddle affect within the cells of the crackle. I want to leave some stronger pigment in the individual cell with the edges lighter, kind of like it's been worn out. Wiping with a towel blends the color, but I want a stronger color left in the center, with lighter edges. Does that make sense? It's hard to explain, but I hope you can help! Thank you in advance.

I tried the golden paste on A plastic pencil holder. I applied gesso then used some pink and then added crackle, but didn't get the desired effect. I was very disappointed.
