2022 Ford Maverick: Top 10 Questions Answered!

Just ordered a Lariat version with the standard hybrid 2.5. I’m worried there will be a lack of enough tq to get out of the way. It’s for my 16 year old.

If you are getting lot's of questions about not being able to buy higher end Mavricks that tells me Ford is completely wrong about this. People like the SIZE of the Maverick Ford should not be forcing people into a different vehicle because they want a higher end interior.

Will the Maverick qualify for the Fed tax credit?

I know that the rear seats are able to be folded up. Can the seats be folded down like the rear seats from a regular SUV?

Orders are 100,000 and monthly production is 1200 in Mexico so it will take 8 years to meet that number so any order is fiction unless they can increase production by 10x , that factory clearly can not do that. We need to know a true production story, the numbers fail to do that.

May as well get a mini-van or suv and a small trailer if I need to pick more up.
In fact.. this IS a mini van without the roof over the back.

Hi Sam, we are wondering why we don't see "oh shit" handles in the front area of the cabs. We see them above the second row windows. Do the front row seats have the grab handles ? Thanks so much

Who designed the dash of that truck? The flat screen looks like a slice of toast popping out of a toaster. That interior already looks 15 years out of date. I get that they use a lot of plastic due to the price point but that interior looks like a design afterthought compared to the nice looking exterior.

You mentioned where the engine and transmission were build. But is there any word on where the finished truck will be assembled?

Would someone please make a video on putting 4 guys over 6’4” and 250 lbs in this truck at the same time so we can see what space is available. This is why I haven’t ordered one yet.

Not having cruise as standard on a hybrid is a big oversight, and offering AWD is key for some of us.... Great truck for a city person who doesn't get bad weather though.
I kept watching, as far as the touchscreen, I'm on the list for the lightning but that HUGE screen is a big negative. I'd want a small/functional screen over something so obscene.

Toyota needs to start developing their "MAVERICK" right now!!! They will take this market if the do it right. Make it look like their original small pickup BE TOYOTA RELIABLE AND TROUBLE FREE and affordable. Reestablish their small truck dominance they will!

Never buy a first model year vehicle

Here's a question no one ever addresses, how comfortable is the driver's seat?
For people who drive long distance and or have back issues, this is a big deal.
Is there a Ford vehicle that has the same seats so buyers can get an idea of how the seat will feel?
Also, can the headrests on the back seats be removed?

I would love to go with an XL However, without cruise control, it isn't quite as attractive to me, and I'm leaning towards the XLT.

Are there reliable aftermarket options for cruise? Pricing?

Just not for me im afraid. I do wish we could get the pricing of the Maverick in the Ford Ranger. Then there would be no need for the maverick really. I hope low budget do it yourself people like myself will be able to maintenance and work on these and most not going to know anything about the hybrid stuff, so I would already be going for the 2L turbo option and that ups into next price bracket.

Where are the rear door handles?

The bed is just too small for fleet work or for what me and my coworkers need. We’re still using extended cab 2010 Ford Rangers lol, no one is making anything in that class, we might just need to go to Nissan which leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

For the xl, I can't believe it doesn't have Cruise Control

This is a perfect truck for anyone. Even if you have a giant heavy duty truck for your boat or trailer this is perfect for weekend shopping or moving a fridge or couch. The gas savings alone would pay for the truck and not to mention the value your heavy duty truck would retain from the lesser miles.

Had my truck(Maverick) for 4 days. Two thumbs up Ford! Just love it and plan on buying another one.I have the Area51 color. Front wheel drive and now time to buy assories for it. Mud flaps, bed mat and etc.

Will Ford offer a Maverick in a manual transmission?

Do you have any idea when the hybrid will show up at the dealerships ? I have a hybrid Lariat ordered back in August 21.

Dealers push super cabs and only order them so they get the numbers... many people go I want thebother cab well we only got the super cab in stock... so we push that

Do they have a navigation system on them? If not I won't be getting one. If they offer one I'll order one tomorrow.

I've got a question , when parked with engine running will the AC work with no interuption as the hybrid swithes from gas to electric? The toyota hybrids will do this , with the engine on and AC working it will only use about a gallon overnight. Very helpful on long trips sleeping at a truck stop. So ... ?

TY Sam. Someone needs to keep up the pressure on something as critical as brake issues, even if it is apparently only a low speed problem.

Ford will not upgrade the maverick anytime soon. as Ford is in it for the money Not for the users. Sad but true.

I love the interior and FWD hybrid driving feel/MPGs but don't need a truck bed and length (already have a real [OBS] Bronco). They should make a small SUV version of the Maverick.
