The trolls are a reflection of mob mentality. That is why we have jungle justice and everyone copying the other in Nigeria. People want to be in EITHER/OR. If they don't take sides, they have FOMO. Am sorry you are the naive one. How did she pay the police to be overzealous. I lived in Nigeria for 30 years and I understand the police more than you because I have been one of them before. They do your job the way you wanted .it's about the highest bidder.

The 1st course of action in a civil matter is to sue not to use the police to deal with the person directly. We just do things anyhow in this country, any small thing we call the police. I'm sorry but these ladies don't know what they are talking about.

To offer a solution, the Nigerian government should develop simple guidelines for Nigerians who use social media. It will help educate Nigerian users in the laws, what is acceptable and unacceptable. Even cell phone companies can help enforce this by ensuring that users sign an attestation that that they have read and are aware of the guidelines before a new line is activated. This is the way to change behavior and ensure people cannot come to say they didn't know because all of the guidelines was provided to them.

We need a mind shift and effective rule of law to reset people's brain.Just like the Guest Specialist said,we are all not well.
