I need to join this challenge.
But I'm not sure if I can make it 100%.

Dairy - I drink oat soya milk, so that's not issue, but sometimes I have cheese and also I love protein jogurt (or it's kinda more like skyr the type i like). But they are expensive anyways...
And sugar...I am really addicted. But I think as long as I can eat fruits and dried fruit like dates and cranberries, I could do it?

I'm sure I can't make it 100%, but I can try my best.
Also it will be hard if it's part of ready-made sauces or in general part of something I would not expect sugar or dairy to be there...

But since I'm on dorm and buy food for myself, I already eat less sugar and dairy, and my skin really got better, so I want to continue and try more :)

The white sugar effect on skin! I have foods with white sugar and immediately I get a pimple. My skin does not like it one bit at all either.

Oh my, can I relate! If I eat more than a bite or two of sugar, within 24 hours I get a huge cystic pimple somewhere on my face (and I’m 58!) I had to give up gluten this year, as I discovered it’s started giving me utis, although I’m not sure if it’s the gluten per se, or all the chemicals in processed U.S. wheat/flour. I do eat some small portions of organic chicken and wild caught salmon because my body craves it, and I can definitely tell a difference in my energy level when I don’t get adequate amounts of protein. Thank you, Jenny, for bringing the importance of a healthy diet into the realm of beauty and anti-aging!

Great video, thank you! At the age of 52, I started drinking 2 litres of water daily, at the age of 30, which dramatically improved my skin. I also stopped drinking alcohol and adopted a low-inflammatory diet with no added sugar. I found that these changes have positively impacted my hormones and have supported my recovery from exercise, as I'm a long-distance runner.

I cut sugar out of my diet twice for six months each and it was great. My gut was at its best then. I drink loads and loads of water, but it is weird that I had adult acne anyway in my 20s with all that I drank. I think my hormones were in a weird place then (I did have two kids in my twenties). My skin is great now. I have never had alcohol ever, nor do I plan to. I am about to turn 41 on Sunday. People look at me like I am crazy to never have had it, but I didn't even try soda until I was 27 (one sip) and I hated it. Water forever.
Fun video. I liked this.

Even though this about skin health, you also talk about overall health, so you could have also mentioned that alcohol is rather carcinogenic. That's what I personally worry most about when I enjoy a glass of something. 😅😉

This video was highly motivating for me. I have psoriasis, an autoimmune condition, so diet and stress play a huge factor in my skin (and holistic) health. It is incurable, but i managed to get it fully under control (with no visible symptoms, I.e. no skin plaques or rashes) just once since I was a teenager, when I was on a high dose of vitamin D supplement coupled with a probiotic, and diet change. For me, that involved very little alcohol, a big reduction in refined carbs and sugars and lots of homemade vegetable juices. I think I've needed something to give me a push to get in the straight and narrow again, so im going to take you up on your offer to cut sugar and lower my alcohol consumption for 3 months! I already don't consume dairy.
Here's hoping it makes a difference! Thank you for your tips and encouragement.

I am a big sugar person! Especially ice cream. I could live on just that. I now have some health issues so I stopped eating ice cream for a while. In 6 months I dropped 10pounds with just that alone. It reduced my sugar intake by about 75%. (that's how much ice cream I ate!) I've continued to keep the weight off and now my blood pressure is much better and some of mother testings have improved. I had a couple of bad days so I went back to eating ice cream and it really wasn't as satisfying as it had been in the past. Still have some sugar and I do eat animal products but I am far healthier than I had been,

I did an anti-inflammatory style of eating (I don’t like using the word ‘diet’) for six months last year to help combat high levels of inflammation due to several autoimmune conditions. It really helped improving my gut health which in turn helped with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia symptoms. I’ve relaxed it a little but still follow gluten free/low dairy with minimal sugar.

When I stopped eating dairy my skin cleared up straight away. I don’t get any spots anymore and I had bad cystic acne. I notice if I eat a lot of oil my skin gets worse, funnily enough the amount of sugar doesn’t impact my skin much. Everyone’s different though! :)

I would urge anyone watching to cut dairy even just temporarily to just see how your skin is after a couple months. Try it out don’t take my word for try it yourself it was the best thing I ever did for my skin and I didn’t even realise dairy was giving me spots.

Girl , I have stopped eating carb when I was 35. I am now 43. And people think I am a very young woman . If I was carb and sugar , yes I get eye lids inflammation and miserable pms !

50 percent of my meals are vegetables . And just like you , I eat tofu , green tea , berries lots of nuts .

As you get older , diet itself won’t do it . Work out is essential . Keep in mind everyone that we female eventually go through menopause one day , that will increase skin issue and inflammation . But if you all do weight lifting , and some aerobic , symptoms can easily maintained . I am not yet menopausal , but I have many friends go through it , ppl who do work out have much less symptoms and skin aging .

I am on-point with hydration, antioxidants and all, but I’m still very fond of cheese and wine (not too bothered by sweets most of the time)
I’m afraid that it’s my age that has played havoc with my skin lately; no doubt cutting out cheese and wine will help. I’ll go on a break after Christmas though, I’m afraid I make life hard enough for my extended family by being vegetarian ;)
