would b cool to get a video from you about how madagascar is actually a full continent
ОтветитьNo man is an island
ОтветитьAmazing!
ОтветитьA nice addition to David Quammen’s book, Song of the Dodo.
ОтветитьMillions of Years is a ridiculous idea. Thats why young earth is taking off.
ОтветитьYou should cover such "islands" but in human populations
ОтветитьLoved this video! And your way of explaining!❤
ОтветитьMY BOY THE OLM WOOOOO
ОтветитьSo your saying that blue whales and pigmy blue whales are subspecies and only 20000 years apart and that more population = faster evolution
This is the best argument I’ve have for racism thus far
Hey Atlas Pro... love your videos... could I recommend (request) you do a video on the "Movile Cave". The Animals there have been isolated for 5.5 million years and the entire ecosystem is based on "Chemosynthesis" as apposed to "Photosynthesis" so their are plants that grow their that live of chemicals in the water and not sun-light (or guano). Its supposed to be unlike anyother ecosystem in the world. Hopefully you read this and that sounds as cool to you as it does to me :)
ОтветитьCan do a video on island’s Lakes and Rivers
ОтветитьAmazon River Dolphins are cool cuz they're PINK 🐬
ОтветитьIn Glacier Park MT, has fish, that spawn in the wrong direction. Downstream.
ОтветитьConceptually interrelated to this, and the salamander presentation, i think we will one day find top tier predators in the more tropical regions, related to fishing spiders.
I hadn't considered, much to my chagrin, your point of the amphibious capacity to harness terrestrial, and aquatic, prey.
Upon consideration, and taking into account unconfirmed anecdotes of gigantic subterranean arachnids, along side the prevailing diversity of there relations under the direct rays, and confirmed capacity to ameliorate the medium gap; Giga rachnid trogys, either spider, or scorp. Most likely in se asia, or oceania
banana chameleon
ОтветитьMy mind was blown away by the rivers-around the fire habitats isolation hypothesis. Great work!
ОтветитьI love your cave videos! and Video in general. came from the cave ecosystem one which i think helps alot with the world building i am doing so thank you
ОтветитьYESSS U POST EMOJIS DONIG THE DIRTY AND UR 7 YOUR 7 UR TOO YOUNG UR 6-8 YOU HAVE TO BE AT LEAST 13 TO POST VIDS ON YT SO YESS GO GOOOOO!
ОтветитьSomething I don't understand about island dwarfism: I expect that animals would face the same pressure from starvation in islands as in the mainland (whatever they are), as i expect animals to continue reproducing until they hit their environment's carrying capacity for their species. If anyone has an explanation, ideas, or counter points, I'd be very interested.
ОтветитьCan you do one on islands for microscopic organisms? For example, I sometimes wonder how thermophilic archea get to hot springs in the first place. Or how my compost pile, when it gets hot, can sustain thermophilic micro-organisms when there's no "hot temperature mainland" to colonize from.
ОтветитьVery fascinating! Thank you!👍
ОтветитьThe island I really love for it's unique diversity is socotra island
ОтветитьMay I humbly recommend that you revisit your background music choices. I find it intrusive and I believe it breaks a few rules on accessibility. I genuinely don't get why everyone has to complement enormously good quality information with generic, bland, elevator music. I fear I'm in a minority, but I simply can't watch these videos to the end.
ОтветитьCroatia, Bosnia and Slovenia in thumbnail- had to watch the video as Croat.
ОтветитьFun fact. Olms were hunted in middle ages because people believed they where dragon babies.
ОтветитьThese videos give me more information than school
ОтветитьThis was fun. Well done, lad. 😎👍🏻
Ответитьi love the reference of the scientific names on screen but i think it might be more communicative to say a nice common name (translated probably) for species verbally. common names are used cause they tend to communicate more about the animal to us common folks haha
ОтветитьNova Scotia is another "false island". It didn't have deer until they were introduced due to the Tantramar marshes cutting it off from the rest of Canada.
ОтветитьCould you do a video on why Madagascar is sometimes called the 8th continent please?
ОтветитьThe axolote is a example I think
ОтветитьWhat if, and here me out, you got into depth and dedicate a while video to just one island that's not really an island? You could even look at one you've already presented.
ОтветитьA little late to the show, Madagascar isn't technically an island. It's an, albeit small, continent. It left Gondwana together with India, then left India to travel towards Africa. So probably Lemurs and Chamaeleons are originally Madagascan
ОтветитьBrakisha taculata sounds like some kind of drink from Starbucks
ОтветитьCaves and mountains have lower oxygen levels and if there was more oxygen when the dinosaurs were hanging around, it could be a factor.
ОтветитьDavid Attenborough reckons that Chameleons originated from Madagascar and their higher diversity there is because of this, where is a much smaller population reached Africa hence the much lower genetic diversity and variation of species.
ОтветитьAnd all penguins are extinct. Discovery channel is nothing but lies. The truth will set you free. Also, Sea Cucumbers breath through their butt.
ОтветитьThis isn’t an island, it’s a peninsula…
ОтветитьYay bats!
Ответитьthough not an evolutionary biologist nor a biologist it makes intuitive sense to me that larger populations evolve faster than smaller ones, the reason seems fairly obvious...
Ответитьindia will be islands
ОтветитьI just figured out that the Microsoft looking logo is his other channel.. 😂😂😂 I was already subscribed too. Loved the kayaking in the Gulf of Mexico!!
ОтветитьDidn't knew I would be fascinated by Olms and life in caves one day, thank you !
