Nikon D750 Tutorial Training - Focusing Systems - How to

What would you recommend for concert photography? I’m shouting mainly manual focus single lock

I have an opportunity coming up where I’m getting a press pass for a band

So I’m gonna be up close and the band is good at moving around!

Would the auto focus C set to 3D or one of those expanded group squares work?

The lighting should be fairly decent to for the band and venue

I wish I had seen this two years ago when I bought my D750

The single square doesn’t move when pushing on the directional pad

Is all this the same in video mode? Say you were at a concert in the front row... you have a moving guitarist in front of you and you were using AFC 3D... do you need to hold the shutter button halfway down all the time or once.... or periodically? Thanks. Great Video.

Michael, hi.. I'm based in the Midlands of the U.K. I previously owned a Nikon D7000...I've since given this to a friend. I was shooting at a former colleagues wedding and some of my party got hold of the D7000 and, with sensitivity, they inadvertently change settings. I could not get these back due to lack of time and self education with the equipment. I then upgraded to the D750 and being retired have promised myself to make time to understand this fabulous equipment more closely. Focussing and setting of, previously, I found difficult. I googled this difficulty. It brought me to you and your tutorial, which I have benefited enormously from and, in subscribing, I hope to learn more from other tutorials. With thanks...

I suggest that you position your left hand under the lens allowing your thumb instead of index finger to depress the selector button, and also going better support by having your left hand beneath the camera.

When I press the auto focus button in it doesn’t let me scroll through the focusing options. Only the metering button comes up what do I do?

What setting is best for real estate pics? Getting the most in focus.

Not sure if my D750 is broken LOL. But none happened by long pressing the button on the AF.

When I try to look through the different modes while holding the AF button nothing happens for me? I don’t see the letters and my focus doesn’t change like yours in the video. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
