Hey Jack, excellent video brother! If you had to pick between this Supro or the Marshall Origin 50, who wins? Thank you very much!!
ОтветитьVery thorough explanation! And it wasn't scripted, which makes it more believable and genuine. I've owned half a dozen Supro amps, but never this one. You've piqued my interest!
ОтветитьHi Jack. I got this amp after your review. Love it but looking for a good low- medium overdrive pedal that might suit it. Any ideas, what about the Tumnus deluxe, Im watching your review of that also! Thanks
ОтветитьYes a very cool amp I got one when they first came out Impulse purchase LoL but no regrets at all Love the boost but not so about the gain function but maybe a AU7 in the preamp stage would help that What really shined for me was the line out Into my 100 watt Tonemaster it really sounded great Almost turned it into a no pedals needed situation Plus both amps have fx loops so leaves that issue wide open Maybe a speaker upgrade to one with more headroom would be something to think about to make it a top shelf small gig amp But overall I would recommend this amp and great price point as well Fantastic demo Jack Good stuff 👍
ОтветитьAfter having this amp for a year Jack have you used the amp w the line out function to a 100 watters or something similar ? If not you really should Into my old Fender CS Tonemaster it sounds like a 3K custom made amp My gosh you should check it out Maybe cause the Tonemaster is such a great amp but w the FX loops on both of those amps Gives you a total of 3 loops which is overkill of course But the loop in the BK is top notch Too much to lug for a gig but in the music room it's gold Check it out Happy Holidays Jack and keep up the fantastic in depth demos 👍
ОтветитьI played this at my local guitar center a few times and I think it’s a fun little combo. Definitely Led Zeppelin I vibes. Sweetwater has a great deal for Black Friday. $329 for the amp plus you get the foot switch, a cover, and a cable.
ОтветитьI had one and liked it but I traded it for a Bluguitar amp1. Saw the Sweetwater black Friday deal and snagged another one. I found on the one I had the speaker really needs time to break in.
ОтветитьSweetwater has it for $299 Black Friday sale. Just bought it 😃
ОтветитьJust picked one up yesterday...Black Friday deal...2020.....WOW...@ Sweetwater...what a great deal..this Supro amp, a gain and boost Supro foot switch, a Supro cover, free shipping and a Supro 15’ cable.....for $349.00 out the door! I will update later. This is a great review..lots of nice tones and sounds. Thanks for the motivation!
ОтветитьThat’s a great sounding clean, beautiful. I really like the crunch too. Personally I wouldn’t be using too much gain or boost but it’s nice to have that option. Jack your playing is real nice !!!
ОтветитьREALLY appreciate the review. Buying one and have been a student of every review - this one's the definitive. Thanks!
ОтветитьHi Jack - you are a terrific resource for us guitarists and musicians. Your videos are AWESOME and chock full of very valuable information.
This video was one of the reasons that I had my eye out for any sales of either the Supro Blues King 10 or 12. I was keeping my fingers crossed on the 12 and sure enough, the oft-mentioned Sweetwater Black Friday sale occurred last week, and I was able to snag this awesome amplifier for $329 including footswitch, cover, and cable.
I can go on about why this amp is a perfect fit for me but that's not the point. I did want to relay something to you that appears to be a common complaint of these amps. The reverb on this amp appears to get unusable past 9 or 10 o'clock. This is an observation made not just by me but several others on a popular guitar forum, and, some users in the comments below (namely @Pierre G).
It's a little hard to explain but immediately evident when hearing it occur. It starts to get 'mechanical'? 'Washy'? 'Echoey'? at even slightly higher levels. Plus, the tail on the reverb is unusually long. I don't know if that is a Supro characteristic or not, but, it really does seem to be longer than other stock amp spring reverbs. I don't know, do you think there could be some quality control issues with the spring reverb components? Could it be related to the preamp tube? (Sorry, I'm not really an amp tech). I have heard of others swapping out the stock preamp tube in order to get some more clean headroom, and I wonder if there is a relationship between a poor quality preamp tube and the end result of the reverb effect.
Finally, I would be woefully remiss if I did not mention how spectacular of a player you are. Your original compositions are superb. I love to stumble onto your videos no matter what you are reviewing! Thanks for sharing your invaluable insights.
Can you publish various settings? Difficult and sometimes impossible to read settings. Thanks.
ОтветитьLOL. Yet another visitor from the Sweetwater deal! This was a FANTASTIC review. So in-depth and just full of great tips. Subbed!
ОтветитьGreat review Jack. I’ve got a blues king 12 and love it. My Les Paul and Strat sound great and I got a highway one telecaster it sounds great through it too. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Cheers from Chicago.
ОтветитьGreat playing! You really showed the different tones that the amp can hit, exactly what I needed to hear to go ahead and purchase one so thank you!
ОтветитьGreat video and review. Currently checking to swap my Bugera V55 Infinium with this for the lower wattage and it’s got a great tone as well. I noticed you have a vintage modified squier tele hanging on the wall, is that it? I have the same guitar, would have loved to hear it through the amp...
happy new year bro!
legit review...
ОтветитьAc10 or Blues King? I wonder. Mostly for home amusement with blues and classic rock.
ОтветитьDoes the line out kill the speaker?
ОтветитьHey Jack is there a headphone plug in Jack. ?
ОтветитьThe right player, playing the right styles into the right amp. That was wonderful, Jack.
Ответитьmost of you´ll can´t juice out a good amp, what a shame.
ОтветитьWhy would someone give this video a thumbs down?
ОтветитьAfter owning this amp for nearly a year, I'm still learning things. I keep watching reviews and demos in hopes of finding more.
ОтветитьVery dark clean tones :(
Ответитьthanks for the attention to clean tone, very helpful
ОтветитьMan Jack you've got a sweet collection. I'm super jelly about that White SG that's my Grail for sure. Thanks for all of the insight and wisdom I truly appreciate and enjoy it.
ОтветитьHow do you think this amp would handle raw 80s rock, big open g chord stuff? and does a tube screamer/mid range type overdrive tighten up the tone at all?
ОтветитьCant see knob settings..
ОтветитьNice demo,
ОтветитьI know it is my weakness but I lobed the tele tone (a lot)
ОтветитьHi Jack. The settings of the knobs is very hard to see in the video . Is it possible to describe the various settings ?
ОтветитьFirst! Taz! Gratat Video! Now. My wife works at home--I must keep it low---how well does this amp work at low volumes? I know it doesn't have a headphone out--What work arounds do you recommend that I could use to be able to use this amp with headphones---that may be my only option. Thanks. These amps are the best...
ОтветитьI saw a recent video in which the Reviewer replaced the #1(position) 12AX7 tube with a Muller 12 AU7 tube. Wow, what a difference...significant boost in speaker "head room" & definition. Breakup can & does still happen but at a significantly higher volume/power level. Absolutely improved the tones & volume level of the amp.
Highly recommend!!!
Sounds like it's really dark and muddy. I think fenders probably have more presence in the higher notes. I just can't hear any chime or brightness.
ОтветитьI know this video is a bit older, but any insights as to how this sounds paired with a guitar with P90s?
ОтветитьDo you know what it's like for harmonica or any harmonica players who recommend it
ОтветитьHey brother, it's me again! Between the Blues King and the Delta King, who wins?? Thank you very much and Rock On!!
ОтветитьPlz use a strat once in a while.
ОтветитьJack you do some sweet amp demos dude. Put that amp through it's paces. Pretty nice sounding amp.
ОтветитьBeautiful Gretsch tones
ОтветитьHi Jack, long time listener, first time caller. I would like to ask you between the supro dk12 and the vox ac10, which one is your favourite. I had the vox ac30 and loved it, now i need a smaller amp for travelling. I tried the ac10 at a shop but it didn't feel good, maybe because i wasnt using my telecaster but a squier tele, i don't know. But the digital reverb, even when dialed down, made it sound like a solid state amp to me. I didn't try the supro, from demos i hear here, it sounds a bit boxy and dark. I like loud and articulate cleans and i think that the supro might help with the 12" cone. Also the supro is slighly smaller and has a spring reverb, but i can't find it used in the colour i like, which is the black and black. Any advice is highly appreciated. Best, Denis
ОтветитьMine smoked and died within 10 minutes new out of the box….
