Some pretty good channels out there, but this one? Awesome! Thank you!
ОтветитьAh, I was waiting for this. Feet up, cup of tea, doesn't get much better than that of an evening.
Cheers ^
Awesome video. I didn't know the ART scopes were essentially modified Redfield 3-9 scopes. Makes sense now since they look so similar.
ОтветитьHi to Rob and Tony i would like to see you take a AG 42b Swedish with m41 ammo from 100 to 700 yards, the 6.5 Swedish is a tack driver, the only problem is they only made 30.000 of them from 1942 to 1945 please respond if you can. thank you Rob and tony for your great videos.
ОтветитьGreat stuff! Thanks for putting out such quality content.
ОтветитьTo say Hathcock wasn't the best sniper in Vietnam is blasphemy. He didn't have the most confirmed kills. What he did have was the best field craft. Hence how the Marine Snipers adopted his doctrine for jungle warfare.
ОтветитьI love everything on that table!
ОтветитьExcellent. Two thumbs way up!
ОтветитьThe M-14, M-21 get a lot of crap in the gun community. They’re great rifles and one of my personal favorites. Have been since I was a young teenager and first laid my eyes on one at a gun store. My second favorite is the SVD. That’s a rifle I’d love to just shoot one day bc of how crazy expensive they are.
ОтветитьI like all all videos goodjob
ОтветитьI heard him say that he's leaving the M76 for Rob! Video is on the way!
Ответитьthanks!! great stuff
ОтветитьRob brings it all to us! History, shooting, comedy! You name it. Thanks for the videos, Rob!
ОтветитьMuch of the historical impetus for the criticism of the M-14 service rifle arises from studies of weapons malfunctions and breakdowns in the field while in use with the Marine Corps and U.S. Army. Whereas the USMC adopted Winchester and then Remington bolt-action rifles as their preferred sniping/precision rifle, the army chose to accurize the M-14, and mount a scope on it. The result, which used a variety of optics, was termed the M-21. At that time, when any scoped M-14 suffered a failure of its optic in the field, due to breakage, fogged glass, etc. the entire rifle + scope was tagged for maintenance. Meaning that the rifle was tagged as being in for service, even if nothing was wrong with it. The decision had been taken that the rifles and their optics were administratively to be considered as a unit. This in turn skewed the data against the M-14, which was actually a very reliable and robust combat weapon, whether scoped or with iron sights.
ОтветитьThe suppressed M21 with the NVS was prolly the most unwieldy thing I have ever seen. Looking back into the 60's/70's/80's uncovers this crazy sort of meta where our ways of thought just don't apply
ОтветитьVery educational. Thanks Rob and Tony!
ОтветитьThe IDF m21 and their other versions also is something to mention.
ОтветитьGoodness, that's a fine looking ART scope. Congrats on the setup!
ОтветитьGreat presentation!!!! Lots of fun and informative!!
ОтветитьThe PSL is one gun I need for my collection. I like it better than the SVD because of similarities to the RPK.
ОтветитьJust fantastic! Really great overview. You're really well informed (mostly because I agree with you lol!) That M-76 is growing on me, something to be said for 198 grains
ОтветитьAnother outstanding video and history along the way. Keep it coming...Outstanding!
ОтветитьAlot of hate for the m14, but i sure do like them , granted ive never been forced to use one in combat, but yeah , i like them alot
ОтветитьSorry guys but Carlos Hathcock WAS the best sniper in Vietnam. It's not because of numbers, which most people like to use as the measuring stick, it's because of the incredible missions that he pulled off and survived. He should have received the Medal of Honor for his rescue of several fellow Marines from a flaming amtrac during which he was severely burned and which ended his sniping career in Vietnam. The man is a legend and in my mind he and Chesty Puller are drinking buddies in heaven.
ОтветитьI love the 3006 forever!
ОтветитьKind of hard, sometimes, to make precision shots, laying prone, with a 9 inch magazine sticking out the bottom.
ОтветитьGreat presentation guys.
Thanks
Thumbs up!
ОтветитьI have an m-600 ART that I acquired in the last century. Interesting concept but nowhere around here that I could stretch it out.
ОтветитьWe still had an m21 with the art2 scope in use during desert storm . It was very accurate .
ОтветитьThis channel is awesome
ОтветитьGood stuff
ОтветитьWhat kind of spotting scope are you using in your shooting videos?
ОтветитьI like the fact that you mentioned the 30-06. I have a Noreen Arms 30-06 precision AR-10 and I have shot it out to 1200 yds and I can get 6 out of 10 hits on steel. But that wasn't with a lot of load development and time on the trigger. It takes a lot of practice and knowledge of your firearm to achieve those shots. My other favorite long range firearm is my Uintah Precision AR-10 bolt action .308. If you think the 7.62x51 is limited then the Uintah Precision AR-10 bolt actions will make rethink the .308/7.62x51. That's just my thoughts. Awesome video!!!
ОтветитьThe M14 was never a great infantry rifle nor sniper rifle. The article titled: "The M14, Not Much For Fighting ( A Case Against The M14 Legend )" debunks the Boomer gun shop Fuddlore myths of the M14.
ОтветитьThank you 🙏
ОтветитьAWESOME STUFF YALL!!!! AWESOME!!!
Ответить👍👍👍good vids
ОтветитьYugoslavia was never a Soviet satellite state, still dirty commies, though. Stalin tried to execute Tito a few times and failed.
ОтветитьI always thought that Hathcock was looked up to because of his field craft and his ability to use that old hunting rifle with the extremely shot out barrel.. that he refused to replace... haa haa!!
Ответитьi love chasing rabbits. i might need to put my 7.62 tube back on my M1a. Now where'd i put that pipe wrench.
ОтветитьMarine here. I’ll not stand here and listen to your blasphemy about who the best sniper was. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Repent blasphemer so you may be forgiven otherwise you’re gonna burn in hell 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьNo, Hathcock was the best. He didn’t get the most CONFIRMED KILLS, but probables were off the charts.
ОтветитьMaybe you can do a part 3.
Try including the FAL, AR-10 and PSG-1.
I'd those are available.
Carlos Hathcock was one of my range instructors at the Basic School at Quantico....very humble man and one of the greatest snipers in the Marine Corps. Semper Fi.
ОтветитьI was reading Mekong Mud Dogs by Ed Eaton and he had a few comments about a sniper named Waldron in the 9th that did not paint such a rosey picture of his activities in the bush....
Ответитьi think you missed the m1 carbine set up. and maybe the vss.
ОтветитьI really like this video, 30-06 is my choice for those old weapons.
ОтветитьGuys, I misspoke about Yugoslavia when talking about M76. Yugoslavia never was a member of the Warsaw Pact.
Anyway, thanks for watching and please spread the word! Share the video out! Ha!
