So happy that one of these gems became the song, Luck and Strange. And the name of Gilmour's latest solo work, out September 2024 with a very successful tour that followed. Royal Albert Hall, Rome, Hollywood Bowl and Madison Square Garden. David hasn't forgotten his best bandmate ever,Richard Wright. He's keeping him alive in his heart a the music they did together. But David has said some music must be done away with live shows now. He could never do Echoes anymore without Richard. I respect that very much. He's song, A Boat Lies Waiting, is his tribute to Richard and you can hear in his words and guitar playing, he will miss Rick to the end of his days.

That is wicked. The tumbao on the bass unfurling into a dub funk groove is the secret ingredient for me.

The part where they flip instruments sounds more like Pink Floyd then PF on their last album😂

This is great stuff. Just saw Luck and Strange in Los Angeles in October 2024.
I must say, Watching Gilmour playing the drums in this video is sort of like Albert Einstein teaching first grade science... Or shooting butterflies with a shotgun... or Neil Armstrong driving a school bus... or Patrick Mahomes as head water boy.... a wee bit underutilized.
We are lucky to have this legend still with us.

This is about a year before Richard died of cancer. He looks unwell here. I think these jams were a way of helping him cope and getting some stuff recorded.
