Nice video to show main features of VSFM! But VSFM isn't open source. It is free to use for non comercial purpose. You should also say that CMVS/PMVS is a software developed by Furukawa. LM

There are portions of VisualSFM that are open source as provided by Changchang Wu. So, this is partially true. Good point on PMVS. When you are using VisualSFM and launch CMVS/PMVS, the log window does show that it is from Yasutaka Furukawa. Thanks for comments.

Hey, thanks for the vid. I received my nvidia card two days ago. Tryed yesterady and was unable to get a decent sparse recon, the dense recon also failed due to a problem with a dll lib. I'll try again today. Good to know we've a tut.

Hi, great video... i am having trouble with actually getting the 3D reconstruction, it always tell me i need the cudart.dll file?!?

You need to make sure that you have the latest nVidia drivers updated and also make sure you have the latest Cuda version installed. Also, please note that there is a Google Groups for "VisualSFM" and you will get lots of help there.

How come I don't have an CMVS button in my visSFM? Thanks a lot for the tut, though!

There are some modes where the button will not show. You need to have a sparse reconstruction and you also need to be in the proper visualization mode. So, if you are just looking at the photos or 2D matches, I don't think it appears.

look on the VisualSFM site because you need CMVS/PMVS downloded and place those files into the same folder as VSFM.

First, nice introduction. Second, anyone tried to get Visual SFM working on a tablet device? For example a windows 8 Tablet with Atom CPU? I would find it interesting to make photos with the tablet and create the cloud on the fly.
