Kodiak ate this things lunch….
ОтветитьPretty cool old machine. Love these 90s 4x4s.
ОтветитьCool review of that old beast, those were a heck of a farm & utility ATV back in the day, nice big racks and geared low for hard work.
ОтветитьRifle season is coming up and that's perfect.the first 4 wheeler I had in 1996 was a bayou 220 on the farm and it was dependable for what it was
Ответитьi never knew they made a lq 400?i thought the biggest was 300.great deal for $600 for sure!!!!
ОтветитьWhat kind of oil do you use for your ATV’s?
Ответитьhey rock,i see you use rotella t6 in your oil changes.i use rotella t4 as it has the (jaso ma) for wet clutches additives in it.have you ever used that?been using that in all my atvs, bikes for 15 years.cheaper then t6
ОтветитьHi from Milton Vermont
ОтветитьThe big engine from the early 90's! Of course it has no brakes! (I found approx a little less then 5" suspension travel front and rear, hard to find info) with front hydraulic, maybe just needs a bleed? A shame you couldn't keep that Grizzly 660 you got running, to trade to your brother? I have a 91 Moto 4 250, it has such crazy low gears, but well suited to its meager 15hp.
ОтветитьI'd like to see you make another video on this one, maybe adjust the valves and clean the carb.
ОтветитьWith your knowledge and experience, it’s a shame you don’t restore all of your atv’s . Such a waste..
ОтветитьThe front end , like headlights and grill and front bumper also reminds me of the old Polaris atvs but also see Honda in it and Yamaha lol ,
ОтветитьThe era of the "big bores" 😮😮
ОтветитьI would think you could get a lot of life out of this old Kawasaki with just a little maintenance.
ОтветитьLove your channel, got my first quad Kodiak 400 2005 model solid machine, had dirt bikes all my life but I'm getting on a little 65 years young i bloody love doing dounuts on it, i can see why there is such a craze with quads cheers from OZ.
ОтветитьI would like to know where you live so I can go riding with you. I got a Polaris 600 twin.
ОтветитьAwesome machine! I absolutely LOVE how you want to change the oil immediately. I do the same thing whenever i get an used machine.
ОтветитьThat's awesome! Thanks for the Honda update, I was wondering if you had any luck with the cv shaft.
ОтветитьIs Rotella t6 synthetic your go to oil ?
ОтветитьAwesome video thanks man !
ОтветитьThanks for another video rock. Good to see the channel continue to grow. Always wanted to find one of these cheap to beat around the farm for transportation. Seems like these are rare here. Neighbor had a 300 2x4 he beat on for years and it never let him down.
Ответитьmy kawaski bayou 300 can go up to 40 pinned in 5 th gear
ОтветитьOne of the best machines besides a honda
ОтветитьI had one of those I flipped n broke my back it landed rite on top of me. Lol I don't give up I sold it bought a arrma kraton to give mi back to heal it's fine now I own a few other quads I still have a mi heart for 4 wheelers always will
ОтветитьYou could put done 28 or 30 inch wheels on that and gain a ton clearance and top end capability. Those were good machines back then brother. That's actually still a good machine now. A lot of people still would be so happy to have that machine. Gotta remember man, that's how ATV's used to be back in the day. They weren't these spongy, mass travel suspension 100hp beasts that everyone is spoiled with today.
ОтветитьI had one and didn’t like the ride, the front end was to soft and to much body roll, my favorite was my 1986 Honda 350d 4x4
ОтветитьHad a Kawasaki Bayou 220 2wd and loved that wheeler!!
ОтветитьIs it rotella oil that you use ? Can be use with wet clutch atv's. Scored good for 600 bucks.
ОтветитьI had a bayou 300, absolutely loved it. It melted my boots all the time but I had a ton of fun with it
ОтветитьLove videos like this- good old marketplace finds and make it work! Awesome
ОтветитьPretty sure they called it a semi-independent rear suspension! Interesting concept for an atv.
ОтветитьMy dad still has one of these. Hasn’t run in years, has metal in the oil. Would’ve fixed it up but finding engine parts for these are not easy or cheap
ОтветитьCould be junk in bottom of fuel tank blocking fuel to carb too
ОтветитьHow many acres do you own? Incredible trails!
ОтветитьCan you bump start these bayou's as my starter cog inside has mashed the casing it sits in
ОтветитьAnyone run the t6 5w40 in a ranger 1000xp?
ОтветитьArkansas Wavin
ОтветитьI think I'm going to go suck start a shotgun, I just bought two bayou 300 4x4s and had to pay $1,200 for one and $1,300 for the other.
ОтветитьI have a 94. The kick start is a bitch to use. If your foot slips off, it hurts a lot. I use it to haul firewood and haven't been able to overload it. It just kerps going.
ОтветитьI have a 1990 Bayou 300 and like it alot. They are bullet proof.
ОтветитьMan I need to find a deal like that.
ОтветитьJust picked up a cheap and running 91 bayou 300 4x4. already have the thing tore apart after 2nd day of owning it 😂. Love how cheap these things are. Curious on how much more power the 400 has compared to the air cooled version
ОтветитьMy 1st ATV was a Bayou 300 4x4 AWD semi auto tranny. These generations of Japanese ATV's were TANKS.
ОтветитьMakes chores oh so much fun.
ОтветитьYou got about $1200 discout.
ОтветитьYou commented on being a used machine and changing the oil because you never know who threw what in there just to top it off. That's good advice. I have a neighbor who stops by or calls only when he needs something. One particular time he stopped by asking for some oil for his ATV. Just so happened I had drain oil from my ATV in the containers of ATV oil. I happily topped him off with that used drain oil. And don't feel bad for the machine. It is the most ratted out, beat on, sun faded, oil leaking, smashed bumpers, etc. Yamaha Big Bear 400 you'd ever seen.
Ответитьawesome vid
ОтветитьI still use my 1993 Kawasaki 400 KLF in Alaska hauling moose out from hunting a tank of a ATV never has failed me.
ОтветитьAt lest u can kick it recoil pulls arm off
ОтветитьTail light warranty once tail light oout off sight lol
