Plants don’t make milk, mammals do. Period. Milk is for babies, pre weaning.

All the lies these vegan nutters keep telling each other.

So many vegans are quitting and getting healthy with meat.

Having been diagnosed with asymptomatic Crohn's disease and having learned about the dangers of emulsifiers to the gut, I swiftly poured my almond milk down the drain and switched to TJ's organic soy milk, containing only soybeans and water. Not only have I eliminated the emulsifiers, I've bumped up my protein and fiber. Win win. Thanks, PBSL for, once again, confirming my choices. Nutrition is one wild ride.

There are many more nutrients to consider than these four minerals.

Choline is one of the lesser known that vegans can end up getting much less of than meat and dairy eaters and drinkers. Soy and peas contain some, so milk substitutes made from these are much to be preferred over oat.

Beware of "isolated" soy and pea protein, which lack choline and other important micronutrients.

Soy and protein are not even close to the same molecule. Soy cannot benefit muscle growth as much as protein. The reason soy increases the length of the menstrual cycle is because it increases estrogen. The reason why he is lying so much is because he is trying to push products that he has invested in. I have personally read hundreds of studies that show that soy does indeed increase estrogen.

Tastewise, I only like soy milk because it goes well in coffee or tea. It has the creamy taste and has a neutral flavour. I’ve never seen pea milk where I live.

It would’ve made more sense to test the milks without the additives. At the end they mentioned pea milk won because those nutrients were added in. We don’t even know what brands they tested but that is what the results were based on.

I think plant milks are sort of a big money maker. Think about it: Nuts like almonds and cashews are expensive, so that reflects in cost of their milk. Oats, rice and soy are cheap, and per pound cost so much less, but their milks cost nearly as much as the nut milks. Making your own can be super cheap.

Ответить
@felixcat9455

As per the nut milks the amount of nuts used in these products is very low so it’s not terribly surprising that the did not rank high in micronutrients.

Pea milk? Hmmm. Never heard of, nor have I seen it in stores. I gotta' say I'm really skeptical about the taste. Not that I expect it would taste like cows milk, but rather that it taste too much like peas. Imagine putting something that tastes like peas on your cereal. Or cookies with milk that tastes like peas. NOT appetizing.

I would be willing to try it to see how it tastes though.

As a former FDA investigator, please know that commercial, store-bought milk is toxic. Low fat is worse. This is a dead food, since pasteurization kills all nutrients.

Who really cares? The value of a whole-food, plant-based diet is that you obtain almost all of your nutrients from natural sources. Plant milks are merely a convenience, for eating on cereals or granola, or perhaps making sauces, dips, etc. Otherwise, they are processed reservoirs for artificial supplements. The only thing I look for in plant milks are flavour and texture, and for me that is oat milk.

I used to be a milk drinker. I went to SOY milk for a decade but finally discovered that my health problems were coming from Soy. I tried Almond, Coconut, Oat..and others. I tried making my own Oat milk which was not very good but it works for baking or if I need a little in cooking. Take a handful of oats throw it into the Cuisinart with some water and bingo! Plant Based Milk. The point is, I do not really crave milk anymore. So for all you milk drinkers, once you realize it is a habit, you can break it.

In the USA soy is predominantly genetically modified to be able to use more herbicides. So soy is mostly not a natural plant and it is not organic at all. Women who have been diagnosed breast cancer should ask their doctor if they can use soy milk because there is quite a controversy about it.

The solution is simple, make your own plant milk!

My recipe is:
- 1 litre of osmosis water
- 3/4 cup of rolled oats
- 1/4 cup of raw almonds
- 1 tablespoon of pumpkin seeds
- 1/4 teaspoons of high quality vanilla essence
- pinch of salt (for taste)
- 3 medium Majool dates

Blend in a high powered blender for 1 and a half minutes. Enjoy! Lasts in the fridge for 3 days.

When using a high powered blender it makes the milk silky smooth. When you use a cheap blender it will be very grainy.

I've not seen pea milk available in supermarkets here in England.

Unsweetened soy I think is awful, tastes like wood shavings smell.

I like oat best, almond is alright, cashew is really nice but not available everywhere like oat and soy.
Hemp is nice too but only seen it in larger Tesco stores.
