This episode came out when I was 16. The blatant sexism & misogyny didn't register in my brain at that point. I specifically remember seeing it when it was first aired since Lou leaving the office was a pretty major occurrence in the WJM newsroom. My ma was the ideal housewife, swallowing all the crap my pa gave her, so I thought it was normal, I guess.
