Visited Chengdu a few weeks ago. Very convenient. Use approved apps like Didi. Avoid those touting driver at the airport. They might get a bit pushy but just reject them a few times & they will leave you alone. Other than that is you might see some people still spitting, not a lot but enough to be disgusting. Smoking is also a problem especially some stubborn people still smoke indoors. Small turnoffs but worth mentioning so that everyone has some expectation. Plus point it's very safe, affordable & convenient. People are mostly very friendly.

This is a smart move given the orchestrated negative reporting about China from Western media.

Problem is too many people everywhere, not just China.

Sadly for work purposes, I travel to China twice a year for over 25 years now. My anxiety starts 2 weeks prior to departure as it is always an unpleasant, high risk, unsafe and stressful experience. The deplorable wet markets are thriving, hygiene is a low priority and health and safety standards dont exist. Work colleagues getting sick is the norm. China's values are very dangerous and decietful, especially towards westerners. Even staying and dining at 5 star establishments makes no difference. The highlight of my trips to China is always boarding back home.

They let in Norway but not Sweden you got to be kidding me. They come here to Sweden pretending to be tourists but secretly to cause troubles cause we do NOT hate Dalai Lama. Coming a day early throwing themselves shouting and screaming on the floor when the hotel staff kindly says we are sorry but you come early here is a place you can stay till tomorrow. Police have to come to the hotel to get the situation under control.

I've been to China 3 times instead of 1 since the relax of free China visa was implemented. Please allow foreigners to Free access to visit myseums instead of registration on WeChat which is so troublesome.

Hope many people take this opportunity to visit some wonderful places in China! Appreciate how this may also take some pressure off some popular places in Europe, but some Chinese places are also extremely popular, so be prepared for crowds at peak times!

I would rather visit my mother in laws house than China... Bad food bad accommodations rude service people spit everywhere... If you visit The Great Wall, all you see is trash everywhere. People have no basic concept of mannerisms. Cutting in line is mandatory... can't use cash... if you are in trouble, there is no help for foreigners.
