Velvet is a costume ; not style. Denim is perhaps fashion but not style.

I like the concept behind the video. A “live look-book.” Always looking for ideas as regards my wardrobe. Perhaps, add a third option. Three wouldn’t be too long.

I have a velvet jacket like this and I wore it to my young nephew's birthday party for the hell of it. I think I wore chocolate brown hopsack trousers with it. My brother said I looked like a magician so your mileage may vary

This style of the velvet jacket is definitely elegant but I'm not a fan of the colour. I'd go for darker options.

Very helpful video much like the rest. However I wanted to get a little off topic. Who makes the jacket or cloth of the jacket Austin is wearing here. It is a great dark odd jacket choice.

Is it the one offered by Rampley & Co? Seems lighter than the images on the site.

Jeans: good for DIY, riding the range, or at at BBQ - and that's about all.

With that color of velvet, I would, ideally, wear black wool trousers, black silk square, white shirt, and grosgrain black tie. Alternatively, a coral tie and a multicolor square with some warm colors - various shades/tints of pinks, oranges, yellows, and/or reds, with white. You could use a similar concept with a Pink tie, dusty rose tie, magenta tie, etc.

With all this knowledge online how to drsss. And so many men look like crap.

I love how well that tie pairs with the jacket.

My favourite is definitely the velvet jacket. I would wear it my go-to white or off-white trousers for late afternoon.

Shoes - I have worn Loake & Barker shoes, for some years. Because of the wear on the soles I got into the habit of having a rubber under-sole put on them immediately after purchasing - they certainly lasted longer but I am fancying now that might not be good in terms of dress etiquette. Please can you advise how you look after leather shoes - the soles in particular to best effect?

Could you wear a shawl lapel as this ?
