That is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Thanks so much for sharing, I'm going to try this on my old rusty truck.
ОтветитьNo sarcasm your so smart 💜💜
Ответитьwell, it looks like my rust bucket is about to be 90% bondo and spray foam
ОтветитьWait, you think a full frame vehicles rocker panel is structural? it is not and can't cause inspection failure.
ОтветитьDon’t know how long that would last but it certainly looks good enough form my house.🤣
ОтветитьThank you for Psting!!! 65 yrs old and this is doable for me!
ОтветитьThat looks great! Thinking about doing this with my 06 yukon Denali ...great work guys!!
ОтветитьI wouldn’t recommend this as the foam and bondo hold moisture and will rot the metal out around it faster. But hey it’ll get you by if you need to
ОтветитьGood Looking job, But how long did it last before it detreated again?
ОтветитьGood job. Looks good enough. For $40 of material and 5 hours work, worth it.
ОтветитьIt's been 2 years, hows it holding up?? I'm ok with people doing this kind of "repair to their own vehicles. My problem is people doing this just to pass inspection to sell it. I've seen it done before. At least be honest to the buyer.
ОтветитьReally !!! You did an good job there. WOW it does look good and it will pass for sure. You go girl!!
ОтветитьOut of 10 videos yours was the one i chose how to do my truck And I've seen professional Working on rocket panels But I think your way is the easy way and fast.
ОтветитьWhat's it look like 2 years later?
Ответитьin case of an accident.. your rocker panel will absorb nothing to the impact...
ОтветитьGood temp fix
ОтветитьWhat did you use to cut off the foam?
Ответитьim bout to try this this wkend on my 02 camry. i have rusted out areas of my car rockers on both sides. went to home depot and got everything i need to start. crossing fingers
ОтветитьNicely done. I have an 03 Dodge Ram. Bad rocker panel damage. Smh. No body shop will touch it. I even asked for a quick bondo repair. Nothing. Great video- gonna knock this out see how it looks.
ОтветитьHahaha 😆
ОтветитьIf you're keeping the vehicle, foam is the worst thing to do. Foam is like a magnet for moisture and everything around the foam will rust even faster.
ОтветитьYour awesome! Great clever fix! America is great because of people like you! Thanks for sharing!!!
ОтветитьI think it looks good and I need to pay someone to do this to my van
Ответить“Now remember folks…this is only a temporary fix…unless it works” -Red Green. No seriously, that looks very good.
ОтветитьNice if you're selling it with in a week 😜
ОтветитьNice job , gotta do this on my cobalt. JR
ОтветитьIsn't that Pannell structural??
ОтветитьUse closed cell foam or else it will attrack moisture and do more rust👍
ОтветитьNot on my car....
ОтветитьGood job!!!
ОтветитьShera, time to update video. Maybe Superior Plus Oil will give you a yardstick :~)
Nice presentation. Looks easy when others do it. I'll try it. If Derry Meineke doesn't pass inspection, I'll show em your video.
PS: Fred never gave me yardstick.
Foam absorbs water, why use it?
ОтветитьGreat job!!!
ОтветитьWhat States have a no rust law? I never have heard of this!
ОтветитьGreat video thank you!
ОтветитьIn the body shop world this is called a hack job .this would not pass a inspection
ОтветитьIsn't it sad how cars are made to rot intentionally? I say the manufacturers are all guilty as hell! They KNOW their cars will rust. This, so you come crawling back for more. Planned obsolescence.
ОтветитьThis was awesome
ОтветитьYou know you can just buy new rocker panels, yes?
ОтветитьThat's crazy your state would fail it for that. In my state, as long as the structure integrity hasn't been compromised, then your good to go. Inspection is all about safety. Looks good though. Perfectly fine temporary repair.
ОтветитьYour using the wrong foam need to use close cell not open cell foam
ОтветитьI'm so glad that where I live in Canada we don't have inspections unless you move provinces
ОтветитьI'm just wondering how this turned out? I also live in NH and need my 1988 Toyota Camry to pass. Finding rocker panels for it is nearly impossible so i need to do a "for now" repair until I can do something more permanent
ОтветитьUse mineral spirits to get it off your hand
ОтветитьNice
ОтветитьI like it
ОтветитьWhere can I buy that cut off saw?
ОтветитьDamn should of just got An outer rocker and used self tappers to put it on if you couldn’t weld
ОтветитьCan you tell him to come fix mine I’ll pay 2k😆
