Help! Help! I have a 2nd Grade son who loves super cars/fast cars .... I don't know what I can do WITH this area.
ОтветитьCurrently: Noah - dinosaurs, coding, zoology. Gracie - ballet, arts & crafts, saints. John - bikes, ninjas, wrestling
ОтветитьSome children need u to see their needs. If a curriculum isn’t working change it. Children speak thru play.
ОтветитьI love this! I need to pay attention more. ♥️ Lately, my almost 6 yr old daughter has been "making homeschool videos" (sometimes she watches some with me) and also pretending to be a hair stylist or gives me pedicures. 😂 Maybe there is something to this!
ОтветитьThank you! I was one of those parents that asked their kid and got no answer lol.
ОтветитьHow would you do it if you had more than one child doing school? Do more than on interest at a time? Alternate? My oldest is dinosaurs and radiation/nuclear power plants. Second kiddo is hard to say, transformers as in the action figures. Not sure where to go with that though.
ОтветитьDo you have any suggestions for multiplication games?
ОтветитьI want to encourage people in finding what their children are interested in. You mention you thought your daughter couldn't verbalize what she was interested in. When my daughter was 4 she was minimally verbal (she has been in speech therapy for years) and she made what looked like a donut out of play dough. But it was not a donut. She was trying to tell me it was from a book we looked at. Sure enough it was a black hole from the science book we had looked at days prior. This began a 2 years and counting love of space. She knows so much about space and always loves to learn more.
This was the first homeschool aha moment for us. She has so many interests and we follow them all.
Thank you for this video! I think I have gotten better at this recently but this was a great reminder. My son loves all things art, logic and building.
ОтветитьThis is a great video!! I have four kiddos and they are loving passport to adventure. We lead out from that each week to start and my kids love magic treehouse to begin with anyway.
My 9 year old loves paper dolls so I printed her a ton of historic dolls and she systematically learned about each doll and their history on her own and with who was books. My kids also love learning comics like the science comic books and recently one about John Muir in comic form.
My six year old is all about Lego and I didn't have to teach him basic math because he can see the numbers from playing Lego. If you have a 6 brick and you put a two on it then you need a four brick to build up. His math is amazing because of that.
My 4 year old loves all things macabre. She loves mummies and taking the brains out and gross things about the body. She like the thrill of picking up stinging bugs and learning about monsters. We read a junior version of Mary Shelly's Frankenstein in picture book form. Her interests are the hardest to follow because I want to give her all things innocent and lovely and that's not her personality. She likes bunnies and fluffy animals but there is that other side too lol.
It's so fun to follow their lead!!
Oh and they ALL ALWAYS want to cook.
Great video and tips!! My son loves sea creatures and ocean life!!
