The Russians have no intention of taking all of Ukraine for obvious reasons. This guy is completely clueless.

Nato pushed it's boundaries too close to Russia. The west was always Hungry to take more resourses from other contries and Russia has plenty. So it's a war that west started.

This is the most accurate breakdown of Russian aims that I have seen yet. Would not put it past Putin to be this sneaky. Now it makes sense. Why waste your own troops and equipment in a war you know is going to be concluded to your advantage at the negotiation table. Use some dimwit tin pot dictators troops and equipment to do the dying for you. Kim, you've been had by Putin.😂

At last, Ukrainians will be in NATO countries.
Ukraine will be Russia federation of Ukraine.
That is the only way to have long term world peace.
Because, Ukraine is never a independent country.

It has been the Russian war against NATO.
How much longer this simple thing has to be explained????

The goal of Russia is to keep the Sebastopol naval base, allowing to retain control over the Black Sea and have access to the Mediterranean region. For that, they took Crimea using the moment of instability. But as it turned out, the Crimea bridge alone is not enough of a lifeline, and Crimea agriculture was suffering from water shortages and started questioning benefits of staying with Russia. So, to keep Crimea, Russia needs a "land bridge," which southeast Ukraine is planned to be. This is an ultimate goal, everything else is optional. That's it, folks.

Why dont you tell why Russia wants power over Ukraine? It is just not to allow NATO further expansion to Ukraine as it was invited to join back in 2008. It is the trigger of this escalation. What would US do if Mexico would negatiate to place Chineese rockets next to Texas, US would invade Mexico to take power over mican politicians. Same here. NATO came to russians borders.

While it is concerning that many in the west have the wrong idea what the war is about, it's reassuring to know that all they have to do is watch this 14 minute video to understand what is really going on.

Thank you Anders for the understanding of the topic and explaining it to the broader western audience. It's strange to me, that it isn't known for a fact. That it is about the influence. When pro-russian politician sits on the president seat, such as Yanukovych (who fs up his own people) ruzzia is happy. Whereas when a pro-western politician, who is supported by majority of the country comes to power ruzzia gets mad and want to restore the status quo, with a puppet sitting in Kyiv, the same can be said about any post-soviet country: Georgia, Moldova, etc. ruzzia is a modern colonial power, and those leftist who support ruzzia because of it's communist past are quite blind and delusional. Ruzzian propaganda works very well though.

Thank you, Mr. Zander’s for the unbiased information on this conflict. I myself want this war to stop, so the death and carnage will end.

I’m from the US, and we have a lot of “SLAVA Ukraine” people here. I find that hypocritical. The US wouldn’t like it either if Mexico, Cuba or Venezuela was being invited to a military alliance with one of their geopolitical foes. As you know this happened before and it almost started a war in 1962 with the USSR.

Putin wants to control Ukraine because this way he’d share border with many more European countries which allows to influence Europe more effectively. For him Ukraine is merely a dirt under the boots of his soldiers. On paper, it may be an independent state like Belarus.

Ukranians didnt want to live in Russia, because they know their neighboor the best. Its like a forever drunk crazy person with a gun, who took hostages of all his family and now feeling not punished, he wants to expand his power over neighboors. But it's so simple to solve it: let him feel consequences for his actions!

Hvis du på en eller anden måde kunne oplyse hvor du har dine teorier fra, ville dine synspunkter måske stå endnu stærkere, Men igen. Rigtigt gode indlæg du kommer med. Tak for det og god jul.

It is a war about Russian security and not about territory or influence. It wouldn't be a problem if Ukraine becomes a EU member. However, what, somehow everyone ommits, even though kremlin communicates it clearly, this war is about not allowing Ukraine join NATO. Russia would rather use nuclear weapons than allow it to happen

You have to consider the Russian population. America threw out the elected Ukraine govt and installed these Azovs. They burned people alive in Odessa and murdered 14,000 people in Donbas. The CIA had 10 bio/chemical labs set up near the Russian border. The Russian people won't allow that to happen again. If NATO doesn't like Russia's terms...see you in Lvov.
