I think Joe is wrong. He couldn't get any taller or grow any more hair... So how is he going to be the beauty on the billboard? Lol. Its NOT atainable for him. Sorry Joe.
ОтветитьLow and High can be problem in everything. Banking system is become fun for people. For maker and for buyer.Hope digital economy will create some balance 😀
ОтветитьI Love Elton John!
ОтветитьI quit all social media in July 2020. I am much happier.
ОтветитьDon’t get rid of it for them, let people make their choices. That’s the only way. The only problem (if you want to call it that) is with our style of interdependency. People hide mistakes, pass blame, and can take credit and benefit easily without contributing. But why should I care. We consider these people role models & celebrities. It’s a game. No one really is interested in stopping, so play on.
ОтветитьIf you try to intervene it will never work out. Lasting change only comes from within. Period.
ОтветитьThis is hilarious. Have you seen joe rogans estate?
ОтветитьThis has nothing to do with materialism. You can intrinsically want material things.
ОтветитьYes, materialism is out of control. But no, the solution is not to ban stuff. People just need to take responsibility in their lives. You can’t blame advertisements for becoming materialistic. You have to blame your lack of self-discipline.
ОтветитьSad is the culture that has an ignorant idiot like Joe Rogan as an idol of so many. Terrible times we are living in.
ОтветитьWealth is how you measure your standing in the Game of Business.
Competition is fundamentally extrinsic.
I am materialistic, because I want more wealth than the man next to me.
I am self-aware, and progress in the Game of Business has been incredibly fulfilling.
I love Joe Rogan, but I also find fascinating that he equates existential issues with money or profit gain.
ОтветитьSays the man that owns a castle in Texas.
What a joke
I saw that billboard
ОтветитьToo bad Rogan's 14.4 Million dollar house won't be going with him after he dies.
ОтветитьJoes perspective is good here
Chase greatness
Seems like this guy was down for banning the models for the beach. I like how Joe challenged him the gentleman; 😊seems like it’s been a bit too much time in academia but I’m uncertain.
ОтветитьI'm with Johann on the billboard issue. Although the bodies may be attainable, the message is you have to look like that to be beach ready, sunblock is more likely to make one beach ready.
ОтветитьThe materialistic life does make me happy, but it won't last cause we die
ОтветитьI absolutely agree with Mr. Hari and have thought it many times prior to seeing this video. Advertising EVERYWHERE you look is destroying our society and us as human beings.
Ответить"It's a material world!" The problem is hyper-materialism.
ОтветитьIt sure helps it like saying money doesn't make you happy I rather have money and be depressed then be broke and deperessed
ОтветитьThis is genius at its best. I recently discovered similar content, and it was beyond words. "The Joy of Less: A Minimalist Living Guide" by Matthew Cove
ОтветитьThis amateur should return to assistant coaching debate class prep 2.
ОтветитьJOE TODAY GREED > CAPITALISM HENCE IT'S NOT WORTH IT...THE CHASE IS INFINITE..BOTTOMLESS PIT
ОтветитьThe line between intrinsic and extrinsic values is actually quite blurred.
ОтветитьThis guest speaker is a little immature in his logic and foundation. Good subject and generally good direction, but a little too biased. It was a waste of time.
ОтветитьThe day after UPS or Amazon delivers that package you were dying to get you don't really care. Many of those "packages" never leave your shelves.
ОтветитьLMFAO. Joe had to mention limit commerce. Rich guy defending rich stuff. Joe you suck
ОтветитьThe richest man in the world is not the one with the most stuff. It is the man who needs the least.
ОтветитьGrowing up in a low-income family, luxury was a foreign concept. Vacations were out of reach, new clothes were a rarity, and financial constraints were a constant reality. Despite our circumstances, we found joy in simple pleasures, learning to appreciate what we had rather than yearning for what we didn't.
Now, at 31, I've built a comfortable life for my own family. Our home exceeds $550,000, our travels surpass any I experienced in my youth, and our financial security is solidified by smart investments. However, recent changes, including leaving a toxic job to pursue entrepreneurship, have prompted a reevaluation of priorities.
Letting go of my lavish possessions, like my F250 Tremor truck, has been a challenge. My upbringing instilled in me a deep desire for material stability, but recent experiences have shifted my perspective. I've come to realize that true happiness stems from good health, nurturing relationships, and serving others. The pursuit of luxury pales in comparison to the fulfillment found in these fundamental aspects of life.
So here's to forging our own paths, recognizing that material wealth is merely superficial. From someone who rose from humble beginnings, lost a few indulgences along the way, yet remains content, I can attest: happiness transcends possessions—it resides in the essence of our existence.
Being connected with people ...going out... staying in moment... forgetting pain and letting go.....ur. Already very rich
ОтветитьAnyone know why this full podcast is gone ?
ОтветитьThe average person thinks they're intelligent, but their lifestyle choices prove they are mindless, manipulated sheep.
ОтветитьMoney doesn't buy happiness is such a rich man phrase.
Money solves 90% of your problems its just a fact.
Why have a house if all you do is store things in it.
ОтветитьWhy should we feel guilty to be materialistic as long as we are not attached to it? I don’t get this idea of making one feel guilty if they like material possessions. As long as u enjoy it and don’t over consume it what’s wrong in that lifestyle? I don’t like living in scarcity I’ll be more than grateful to access material possessions which brings comfort for me and happiness and a better life .
Ответить“Yeh but selling stuff!”
ОтветитьRich people to poor people: having money won't make you happy"
ОтветитьWholesome content
ОтветитьThank you bro I didn't know this
ОтветитьDude said lets limit speech…
Ответить"What does it profit a man to gain the whole world but lose his own soul?"
ОтветитьJoe totally missed the point with the "Are you Beach Body ready?" ad. If you have a body and you go to the beach, then that is all that is required to be "beach body ready". The ad is implying to people that if they don't have 6% body fat then they aren't beach body ready which is fucking gross to be honest.
ОтветитьIts like hording goods you dont need.
ОтветитьWow, brilliant. And a real eye opener.
ОтветитьI like how Joe plays devil’s advocate. It’s healthy to discuss opposing views and differing perspectives. Capitalism allows growth and success, but as with everything, there’s always a good balance. I don’t imagine Johaan is so much discussing the billboard issue as he is explaining how the world “noise” and consumerism can clutter someone’s pursuit of true intrinsic happiness. I believe this is not to say “you can’t pursue dreams”, rather it is to say “be happy with who you are and enjoy the things you have”. If you are pursuing something, that is awesome, but it should intrinsically fulfill you. Now, I understand this is a generalization, and circumstantially based, but for many, de-cluttering not just the pursuit of things, but the noise of the world may result in a more fulfilling life.
ОтветитьPoor people are not happy they can't be rich while the rich are not happy because they realize having money was just the beginning of the journey to finding happiness
