I remember his show in Melbourne Australia many years ago and during his opening number he stopped the music and the show and asked the attractive young man wearing shorts in the front row to please close his legs! “ How can I possibly concentrate?”
And of course that young man was up on stage later during that performance.

I adore Julian, but also hats off to Fern for listening to her guest & responding to what they actually said. One of the most present & natural interactions I’ve watched in a long time. Often find podcast interviews just a list of questions, guests will say something fascinating & there’s no follow up question, just onto the next question 🙈 She made it look effortless. Delighted for them both that their anxiety has lessened.

Julian was my guilty little secret on the telly in the 80's & 90's as a teen. Couldn't wait for this interview to end.... only to search up some of his comedy gold.

I love Julian. Saw him at Brighton Dome some years ago.We were front row,me my sister and our brother sitting between us. Julian picked on him for being greedy having two women.😂😂 Our brother said was his sisters but Julian teased him.😂😂It was so funny.

Its not shallow its more acceptance and refusal to wallow. It doesn’t mean you don’t care. If you have a wound you don’t keep picking it.

He used to hang out with my neighbour Karen when I was a kid, when he visited grandparents in our Norfolk village... Some years later, he lived round the corner from me in Camden...

Julian was able to deliver a cutting comment by combining it with a beautiful smile, and a glint in his eyes. He never made people feel threatened. No one could match it, he was so unique, his routine would reach such a wide demographic that many other comedians were never able to duplicate . He's still around to tell the tail, which is a testament to how well loved he is. He has literally grown into a national treasure.
Absolutely love him, from his very early days as the Joan Collins fan club to who he is now.

i admire fearne's maturity. i wonder how many women of her generation are as self knowing. ive had some real tests in life and can now go ocean deep very comfortably. takes one to know one.

Julian Clary, always so much fun. I even went to see his show at The Free Trade Hall in Manchester for my birthday back in the 1980s or was it 90s.

I love this. I’m cooking, watching and listening. So much better than Friday/Saturday night chat shows. Hearing celebs talking intimately about life and work.
