A truly gifted actor. Sad to see him go. My two favorite films are Alien and Midnight Run. Thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьSaw him in Alien and he was very impressive. So likeable. A great movie. Have watched several times. I love horror movies especially vampire movies.
ОтветитьHis portrayal of Al Giardello ranks among the greatest of all time in TV history.
ОтветитьMy father produced the movie "Brubaker" and we knew Yaphet for years after the movie. I went up to Ohio where the movie was filmed and I got to meet him. We really thought Yaphet was going to get a best supporting actor Oscar nomination but it didn't happen. Till this day it bugs me that he didn't get that nomination. Yaphet was one of the most natural actors I have ever seen. I got to hang out with him a few years ago at Monsterpalooza, he was there signing ALIEN merchandise. He was still so funny and he really had a talent for telling stories. I really miss the guy.
ОтветитьI esp like scenes in Homicide Life On the Streets w/Giancarlo Esposito playing his son.
ОтветитьThanks. He's often been overlooked.
ОтветитьHey, That Denmark Vesey etching was actually Frederick Douglass.
ОтветитьDam glad I found your content!! Much Obliged/ Mahalo Sir~ "Here's Your Sunglasses!"
ОтветитьNo women? What?
ОтветитьWhat , no film clips??
ОтветитьI just wanted to add that even though he had a very small roll in the 1968 original Thomas Crown Affair his presence in that film was unforgettable. He said so much with so few lines that if his roll was bigger he could have stole the film from both Dunaway and McQueen. And to add Dunaway was absolutely captivating in that movie both her presence and her performance. That’s how good Yaphet Kotto was.
Ответитьnot bad but personally id put live and let die in the top 3 and add the running man in 9 or 10
ОтветитьMy favorite role by this gifted, talented actor is as Alonzo Mosley in Midnight Run!
ОтветитьHe was so hot
ОтветитьYaphet never died, he just crossed 100th street
