My favorite character

Vega has always been in my top 3 Street Fighter characters along with Ryu and Ken. Why hasn’t Vega made the SF6 roster? He shoulda been there already

Vega was my brothers favorite character. He hated that my Zangief could always take him out.

I took many quarters and destroyed many dreams back at my Decatur Alabama mall arcade in 1992 with Vega and M.Bison 😂

Once you play as him, you learn his weaknesses. You can jab and short kick him to death.

When SFII Turbo was the newest game in the series, I had a stat guide that taught you how to beat the game, on the hardest difficulty, taking zero damage using Ryu or Ken. The secret to beating Vega was to counter the wall jump with the dragon punch. Vegas back flip could be countered with a med fireball, forcing him to block. Now, I realize AI is different from real players, but back then, we had a SNES in one of the classrooms at my high school and we played SFII Turbo at lunch. After reading the guide, and beating the game on 8 stars, with no damage, no one wanted to play against me. You had to be cheap as f@ck to beat the AI, and thats how I played. Vega, Sagat, Ryu and Guile were the hardest to beat. Pro tourneys werent a thing then. F@ck I feel old now lol

I remember having street fighter 2 on my Nintendo as a kid me and my 2 brothers would fight for hours we had no internet and the only moves we knew I think came with the pamphlet with the game. We got where we fought with Ken or Ryu the most or e Honda the dhalism long arm guy Vega was never our top choice no one got good with him I guess we were like 6,7, and 9 I think when we played this game it was a very well made game I remember the punching the car to get points in between matches haha … good times

When I was a kid playing SS2T on the SNES with my friends, they all thought he was F tier as a playable character not having any missile attacks. Once I figured out the timing for his wall throw, it felt about as unfair as he first described it.

Vega was not “Balrog” in the Japanese version of the game; Balrog and M Bison traded names.

Oh wth this guy can do that attack? It does quite a bit of damage too. Here I thought he sucked balls and I thought E. Honda was the cheapest lol. I always thought why does Vegas power melee do such little damage. He is using a friggin blade but I never knew he had that attack..

In the Philippines we called it Bisaya / Bisakol Moves which basically just spamming same and same moves which is actually frowned by majority.

Claw reliably gets me to top 8 at east coast majors. The one thing that used to stop me were boxer players that could throw loop. They grab pops you into the air, he walks under you, you flip back behind him, you have no charge to stop his tick throw. They can even chase down your back flip.
