The pool example you gave is why I think the resort fee amount should vary based on the time of year. I shouldn’t pay the full resort fee if I truly can’t use all of the resorts amenities.

When the Elara was first built it was called PH Tower so originally it was part of Planet Hollywood.

I do like the bluray rental thing. I used to rent blurays from red box when visiting the coast, mostly due to the shotty internet at most hotels and streaming just didn't always work. Though I would hope with a resort like the Elara they would have good internet, but you never know with these places.

The Taco bell cantina is definitely a cool place to go just for the experience, but you should definitely check out the one in Pacifica if you haven't already since you live in California anyway. That one is amazing.

We've got a Jason Aldean's here in Pittsburgh, was not impressed when they first opened and I went so I skipped out on it when I was in Vegas a couple weeks ago. That meatloaf did look pretty good though!

Jay, I have a Hilton timeshare. I ve had it since 2005. You mentioned something that I thought I'd give you a heads up. The DVD paper card to get the movies isn't tied to your charge card or room. If you wanted to be dishonest you could get a movie and not return it. You can't use that card in any of the other Hilton timeshare in vegas. Reason I know this is because I once misplaced my card for the movies. I went to check in and they just took the card from a stack.

Elara looks good. After seeing how another blogger was treated I will never go to Aldean's. Love Earl of Sandwich

Love this place, we stayed in the corner balcony suite for F1. It was cheaper than Cosmo and one of the best views of the race.

Love the Elara…love the location…easy in easy out.
