Why doesnt anyone talk about the actual reasons which why ancient Bharat had to be torn apart into two? Which is that the Muslims refused to live together in the same nation under a democratic system with hindus, whom they deemed as kaffirs. So they agitated for decades, prior to partition, for their own Islamic nation, no matter what the cost, becuase they cpuldnt abide living under kaffir majority.

Jinnah or Jinbhai was an agent of the British rats. They used his Brit lifestyle and loyalty plus regional influence as well as law practicing experience in Kalat/Balochistan. A few months later, Jinnah saw the poverty and realized his mistake, he wanted to dissolve Pak in 1948, got murdered by Punjabi army's cruel landlord mafia. His sister Fatima was treated like a culprit too. Poor Jinnah 's dead body had to wait in an ambulance to make it appear like he was suffering and died en route to the hospital.

They didn't demand partition, nor did they riot for it. They never cast a single vote for the AIML. Partition happened because one community of Indians insist it happen. To place all the blame on the British is to deny the agency of those who betrayed India during its most pressing hour.

I am a little surprised how come this channel didn’t cover the real horrific incidents of rapes, attacks , killings, long journeys by foot and train , no food and drinking water for days , which majority of people experienced instead you guys picked just the elite few cases I mean in comparison to the other millions it was somewhat easier but of course very painful migration do not mean to belittle the pain of these people here ,not at all . My older siblings remember a lot more than me. I would like to visit Rawalpindi, my birthplace! I was born in 1944.

They were not Roiting. Nive goverments of Congress had planned and handed over weapons to their then rashterya sevak singh's hindu policemen and Sikh slaves to kill and massacre armless muslims in their homes and on the road and bridgeways in large numbers to reduce the proportion of muslim majority areas and convert them to hindu majority, just like in kashmir today, the process continued. It never stopped. Be truthful. Face it. It never stopped. Your huge numbers were saved while you were living under muslim rule and mughal rule, you were saved from central asian attackers, yet the moment british wanted to handover india to its people, your intended slavery towards other religions including your own shooders, came outside. You beared no shame and no guilt for the massacres of innocent kids,men old, women, girls who were raped and tortured to death, you beared no shame, and never we heared any apology from you or your leaders for your shameless actions.

If you chose to remain unapologetic then the history choses not to forgive your past, and your mistakes. And you will always be seen in this light of brutalism at its worst in your nation since you started by being a murderous acheiver.

My mother in law came from Rawalpindi at age of 13. They left everything behind & walked for 3 nights to get to India. They never recovered from this mentally & financially.

everyone in the comments who are bashing Pakistan and Muslims altogether, remember that us Muslims also had to leave India because of our Hindu neighbours. My grandparents from both sides left Northern India to settle in Karachi, due to their lives also being in danger. Those Muslims whom you have heard about killing innocent HIndus and other minorities in Pakistan are not true Muslims in any way, and I don't know what other minorities consider those from their own religion who do the same to other religions. It is true that the British strategy of 'divide and rule' is what consequently created hatred and resentment towards each other, and it breaks my heart. My grandparents have said that they wish to return to their childhood homes one day in India, and one day I hope so too. So, truly the British are responsible for this partition and outcome, and did nothing to stop it. We personally don't have any resentment against other minorities in Pakistan, and if you read more into India, unfortunately the same is happening in India with their minorities.

Partition wasn't executed properly and was done by wrong people. Complete transfer of populations should've been done. Sardar patel should've been the PM as he had won the PM candidate elections. Nehru and gandhi should've been kept out of indian political matters.

Not to undermine anyone’s pain but these stories are not as grim as some others. At-least, they paved their way to India safe.

However, if we really want to know the real pain, ask any elderly person who migrated from the province of (undivided) Punjab which was sliced in half & witnessed the bloodiest massacres of Hindus & Sikhs: much worse than Nazi camps.
Every migrated Hindu/Punjabi & Sikh family who were uprooted overnight had much to loose physically, mentally & financially and the aftermath (emotionally) is much worse.

WION should do more such interviews & capture eyewitness accounts before we loose all our elderly people & no one is left to share their stories.
