This does not mention how Brexit is also a contributing factor in eu decline.

Europe was once the world power. Now it is falling behind. Fragmentation:- European Union although named "Union" , each member is still cultivating its own interest. Imperialistic culture:- A lot of top officials are still carrying their imperialistic hats thinking they still have their supremacy over "the South". Misinformation: the continent is relentlessly fed with misinformation making it impossible to compete with the super power such as United States. Crumbling sovereignty : countries leaders no longer place the interest of its own people as their top priority. Crippling international relationship: its ally with United States turns it into a proxy war player of United States and putting it into a conflicting position with Africa, Russia, China, BRICs and many more countries. Lack of foresight and long term planning... you name it. Failing democracy:- most leaders are not supported by its own people - there must be something terribly wrong with the democratic system. Even today, Europe fails to collectively issue a white paper to address its own problem and ways to handle. It's sad. I wish it well. It needs a strong and capbale leader.

Since the end of the communism the secret agenda of france, Germany and the eu has been to bring Russia into some kind of special relationship with the eu. This would provide the eu with the two things it lacks, energy security and military clout.
The blueprint for doing this was to be the coal and steal agreement that saw the birth of today’s eu. Instead of coal and steel, read oil and gas. Create a physical network of pipelines that builds mutual reliance upon each other that therefore leads to slowly building further, firmer ties.

In order to facilitate this move and reassure the Russians the eu states have to disconnect from NATO, Hense the move to an eu defence force minus the US, UK and Canada.

Germany , France and the commission made a serious strategic mistake as putin is not playing their game. The whole plan now blown apart by Russian aggression. Initially france and Germany hoped it would be over quickly. Germany first response was 5000 helmets, macron just wanted to talk to putin. They have had to be dragged into abandoning their former plan and made to get on side.

The eu, Germany and France have humiliated themselves now the eastern member states have sussed them out. The moral authority has shifted away from France and Germany.
The eu, France and Germany have nowhere to go.

The inflation in the US and the EU was caused significantly by the increase of money supply. Strange you haven’t mentioned it.

The European Union was formed in November 1993 with the Maastricht Treaty. The strength of the EU was it’s protectionist anti globalisation trade barriers that made it more economic to buy from within the group. The aim of the EU was to protect member nation jobs, farming and industry, by adding tariffs to imported products.

But within six months the World Trade Organisation was established by 123 nations at a meeting in Marrakesh. This agreement was exactly the opposite to the protectionist anti globalisation trade barriers created by the EU. At its core was trade liberalisation, include binding the negotiated tariff reductions for an extended period.

This WTO agreement has created a nightmare for the EU. In theory as member nations they should abide by WTO guidelines. They ignored this for around a decade, and concentrated upon side issues like free movement within the block.

They also began a back door campaign to thwart the WTO by implementing EU standards that could be used as non tariff barriers to trade.

But by the early 2000s they were under increasing pressure to open up markets. In response to this they began negotiating Free Trade Agreements, that contained strict protectionist limitations and were FTA in name only. The agreement with Japan was actually called a Economic Partnership Agreement or EPA. It specifically limited Japanese car imports, making it a mockery, and was not an FTA.

In recent times even the FTA negotiations have collapsed. The Australia FTA fell apart, and the Mercosur FTA is falling apart when the EU wanted severe limitations on agricultural products. Hence the recent French, German, Belgian and Dutch farmer protests.

The EU is now an anachronism in a free trade world. It is desperately trying to find a justification for its existence, when in fact it’s relevance ended with the signing of the WTO.

Immigrants have not been helping the labor workforce as European governments have hoped. Most migrants today have no intention to work and rely on cash handouts, further burdening the welfare system.

Ireland is absolutely not doing well lol. Their economic data is basically a giant fabrication due to American tech companies headquartering there.

Also, I love how these videos always have a cope section at the end lol. Guy, I'm pretty sure my healthcare is fine with my salary double what a German would make - and the work hour difference is far more a result of different cultures than anything else. Americans are generally driven to achieve, and that means working.

EU has a bigger problem—Spineless-and Vision less leaders -They outsource their future to others—Manufacturing to China—Security to USA—Energy to Russia—In eternal servitude to USA.Scientific and technological innovation is continually bypassing EU—Inviting /accommodating all sorts of immigrants who Donot contribute as much but eat away it’s resources and spread disharmony—suffocatingly over regulated—ivory Tower leadership—Want to turn green ahead of others by destroying an already beleaguered economy —Work ethics—More tuned to 33 hrs/ week.More interested in finer things in life when the rug is being pulled by others below your feet.—Scant learning from its history—Don’t MESS with Russian bear.

On the metric of productivity, you say in PPP terms that Euro productivity actually exceeds the US. The graph you show is talking about growth in productivity. Is it also true that Euro productivity in absolute terms is higher?

Migration of people from 3rd world countries is the biggest problem. Import the 3rd world = become the 3rd world. And socialist policies the second biggest problem. The bigger the government, the harder for business through taxes and regulations, the less economic growth.

I know this video is old but the reason stays the same. The US managed to get rid of Europe's cheap energy and then sell them LPG at ridiculous prices. This Ukrainian war has been superb for America while routing out European countries.
What is worse is the sanctions have weakened the West and rallied its enemies.
NATO expansion will go down in history as a terrible and reckless mistake.

Saying that the solution would be to increase government spending is ridiculous. The real solution is to reduce taxes, make the government more efficient and lean. That would incentivize productivity both for business and for individuals. That is the secret sauce of the US.
It is comic that economics wants Europe to spend like the US (large debt) but don't want Europe to tax like the US neither produce like the US.

As if the aging problem, Ukraine and the Euro crisis were not enough for declining Europe, we now have the expulsion of Europe from Africa, the most blessed continent now intending to build a fantastic empire:

" ... as part of the empire building efforts, maybe time to declare the African continent the sphere of influence of African things like Swahili, the Africanized EOTC, Afrocentrism, ..."

The Africans are already assuming that, Europe will be opposed to this gigantic project in Africa, and are taking countermeasures. Europe or the West was the single biggest enemy the African continent faced in its entire history, like in the case of the Natives of Americas.

The U.S. has similar problems but we're also fighting obesity, dysfunctional family dynamics, and high divorce/low birth and marriage rates. The U.S. is so isolated. I believe the mirage that the U.S. is the most powerful country on Earth is due to its energy independence, but strip this away and the entire country is grey and brown covered with brick and mortar. Not only do people in the U.S. struggle financially, but there isn't much of a culture to soothe or enlighten spirits so there are a lot more people here who struggle psychologically on top of external issues.

If The EU instead of being a vassal of the US and collaborates with Russia this wouldn't be happen. However when Germany and Italy are still occupied by the US, and when countries like Poland and tiny states in Baltics in the EU this is like impossible.
The other problem USA economy under liberal left and Neocon regime isn't bright neither. National depth is sky rocketing. Both US and EU have demographic and social crisis. But if a new regime took the charge in the US can do something against this decline. Like to reverse and abolish so called "civil rights" laws. And isolate The US from the European hemispheres.

I'd rephrase this as "how the US has made EU decline possible". The fake allies, blowing the north stream and forcing eu to rely on US gas for example, at 4x the price. How blackrock infiltrated every EU company, how the US turned Europe against China against our economic interests. As Europe, we allowed this but I am wondering how long it'll take eu countries to realise that the US is the bad guy here
