Kevin Feige’s Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is known for keeping audiences on the edge of their seats, especially with its end-credit scenes. But sometimes, even the most highly anticipated moments can fall flat. A prime example of this? Tom Hardy’s much-anticipated cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
After Venom: Let There Be Carnage, fans were buzzing with excitement over the possibility of Spider-Man and Venom finally facing off. Venom's post-credit scene seemed to set the stage for a monumental battle, with the symbiote transported to the MCU. But when No Way Home hit theaters, expectations collided with reality, and the payoff never arrived.
Instead of an epic showdown between Eddie Brock and Peter Parker, we got a quick cameo where Venom barely made a mark. As fans waited for a significant clash, what they got was far from what was promised. Eddie Brock, played by Tom Hardy, shows up in New York, but before he can even get a punch in, Doctor Strange’s spell zaps him back to his own universe. To make things worse, the small piece of symbiote left behind felt more like an afterthought than an exciting setup for future films. The buildup was there, but the payoff? Almost nonexistent.
