I miss guys with Chris Raineys mentality. In today’s college game physically guys can hold their own. I estimate no more than 1/2 of the guys on our roster and around college football today are as mentally strong as a Chris Raineys generation. I love what Chris Rainey said about competition and taking what is yours. Too many in today’s game “quit” or tap out when they hit some adversity. We need guys in addition to Spikes that are Champions that can instill the mindset of what it takes to compete for Championships. Pushed to that level, some players that are built for it would embrace it. Others though we all know would hit the portal. I’m officially an old head now and I’m good with it. If I’m going to say something positive about players today, they’re better being taught the importance of networking and preparation for winning at life after football. So at least there’s that.
