I've never played a Naughty Dog game and have only ever owned the Playstation 1. But yeah, I agree that its good that they focus on what they do best, single player. This sucks, but its for the best.

Better off. Even if this game was TRULY the best of all time without dividing its fanbase, Naughty Dog’s servers were pure shit. At least from my experience while playing uncharted 2’s multiplayer. One of the worst online experiences i had. Now imagine those unchanged servers try go function on a more open world map that this garbage promised.

So basically a single-player gaming studio tried to make a multiplayer game and was on the track but then realised they don't have the infrastructure to support the game.

I swear this has happened within this year if not the last five years or so to another studio that did the exact same thing and for the life of me I can't remember what it could've been Avengers maybe but if it's not that then what other games has this happened to that should've been out in the last say five years ?

I've been playing Factions since 2014 and still do. The community never asked for a live service. The original game was not. Matter of fact they produced a great single and multiplayer together that propelled ND into the spotlight and success they've enjoyed. The ND statement is a non equivalency. It's not an either or choice. The statement helped to create a divide within the single and multiplayer fans. It's deflecting from the problem of not producing anything now. It's a massive failure of management. I have many of the same questions as yourself. I think the whole thing is a debacle. I feel bad for the developers who have worked on the project only to see it scraped. Obviously they don't owe us anything but it hurts nonetheless. I'm happy we still have the OG factions but for how long? Rumors swirl about how long the servers will be up and running. It's closing in on a decade now and with decisions like what we've seen recently made I'm even more concerned. When the server is closed down I will likely discontinue my PlayStation Network subscription and I will have no need for a PlayStation 5. This was THE game I was looking for and have been looking for for quite some time. Another thing is that I'm certainly going to miss the streamers who have religiously streamed this game for years. Some I just drop by and chat and others I moderate for. It's a whole additional element that's going to be missed.

Naughty Dog's 'Games' are barely even worthy of the Word. They are Movies, interrupted with little mini-games that have NOTHING TO DO with the movie. Think that's not true? Then watch a video of all the cutscenes. Next, play the 'game'. Do the Cutscenes change? Nope.
