Imagine if we go back in time and experience the Christmas during the war. We are so lucky in this generation that we celebrate Christmas in style and we are bursting with all the extravagance we can get during the festive season. So, in every year of the Christmas we have, we should not forget to thank for all the luck we have in this life.

Though my german family did know "bomb nights" (Bombennächte) too, this film makes me so sorry and "moved me to tears". That bad time makes me so angry against the stinking nazis. And I am bewildered, why does national oriented policy raise its ugly face again in Europe?

I'm here because of 'Diary of a wartime affair'.

The british people were brave. But don't forget that it was the british government that declared war on Germany and also started the bombing of german cities first. The british bombing command called it "dehousing". Germany sent several peace proposals to the brits and waited for months before retaliating by bombing british cities.

There were innocent victims and brave people on both sides. Normal everyday people had to suffer because of the decisions of politicians. The germans were cruel, but it's almost hilarious to see the british propaganda portraying themselves as innocent righteous victims when they had invaded, controlled and oppressed big parts of Asia and Africa and slaughtered natives who dared to oppose the british rulers.

The British wouldn't have been attacked and your people wouldn't have suffered the war if Churchill wasn't a war-mongering psychopath working for the Zionists.

How moving! I am sitting here crying 😢

So telling that the narrator says he is bringing the film to the United States, to explain to them what Britain is doing with little to no official support from America. Did anyone watching this program, almost like a newsreel, in a movie theater in Chicago or Denver, Los Angeles or Boston, feel moved to write their member of Congress? Did they call for more arms, food or supplies for Britain, or were they thinking, 'glad it's not me back in the Old Country'?

My mum would have been five months old Christmas 1941. She was born in Stroud.
I'm sure that during the days of the blitz (and throughout the war) there was a lot of sadness but I don't think I saw one miserable face.
