Very good ideas. It’s so difficult not to be goal driven when one is painting.

A very interesting video for a great topic. I have just finished writing the first draft of Art Inspiration. You touched on similar issues as my draft blog post. I would like to link your video to my post if that’s ok. I should be able to finalise the post and upload it onto my website tomorrow.

Bravo! Excellent video I love these ideas! I need to improve my drawing so every morning first thing I read my Bible and meditate on wonderful scriptures but I also use a unique tool called the Christian planner which is a planner and creative goal and habit tracker all in one. Every week I have a theme for drawing and I draw that little item in the planner each day. So a few weeks ago it was my husbands birthday so I drew cakes all that week. And colored them with colored pencils. In December one week was nutcrackers. Then trees. Daffodils. Flowers. Currently teapots. It’s been so helpful to have the task. And now I will integrate your ideas into my week!
Also for anyone who reads the Bible do yourself a treat and get the beautiful word coloring bible. Lots of places to color and draw your own pictures too! 💕

Oh my gosh i think I would have tucked some scrap art in my bag so if I created something wonderful I could pull a switch and let her rip up that while I tuck the nice art in my bag to save. Lol

Love this talk!! I definitely struggle with perfectionism somewhat and I find that I produce better work when I'm relaxed... Love the ending bloopers 😂 made me laugh

I've been watching several of your videos in the last few days and I found all of them very useful, but this one was really inspirational, especially the part about "letting go of perfectionism".
Thanks for it!

Please don't be offended but the piano is so loud I feel like you are having to talk over it. I love all your videos so please take this as constructive criticism. Maybe I'm overly sensitive but piano being so percussive can sometimes be too much. I found this when a friend was healing from a surgery at my house. I would practice/play my harp and my piano. He much preferred the harp and found the piano too jarring in his pain killer state. I often think of that time when I hear music played a little too loudly. Anyway, I digress. Much love to you and thank you for your wonderful videos. Since I did see someone mention the loud jazz in another video I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. Please delete this comment if you find it offensive and I apologize in advance if it annoys you. :-)

I just took a screenshot of the left half of the video for my own inspiration library. The reflection in the glass reminds me of oil or acrylic strokes. 👏

I'm a new to watercolor student and you are reading my mind. I'm so afraid of not being any good (which how can I be if I'm new) and just wasting my precious supplies that I'm immobilized to the point of not even trying. Thank you so much for your expert advice. I'm new to your channel too and am devouring your prior episodes and getting so much out of your instruction. You're what I want to grow up to be someday (I'm 68 by the way). Now I'm going to replay this episode again and put into practice everything you said. Thank you so much from a frustrated artist wanna be. ❤❤❤

Margot I’m 2 years into my watercolor journey I find it so relaxing but I’m a bit of a type A person and have found it difficult to find what my passion is. I can tell you it’s not landscapes😅 but after this video I followed your advice and I was able to identify what I like and why and the best part I’m not bad at it!! So thank you so very much

I always find so much to think about after I’ve watched one of your videos. This one is a gem. Altho I might have cried to see my drawings torn up. Not because they’re precious but because they all teach me something.
As I think about it tho, you said it was the beginning of design school? I guess it has taken me a while to get to this point! 😅
So I have to admit she was a wise instructor.

It would have enraged me if a teacher destroyed any of my work. I get her point but I think it’s a terrible idea. I love your videos. I don’t know how you do all you do, I’m so inspired. Thank you!
