As for who could beat Goku, all you had to say was Vegeta. Hear me out. In every 1 on 1 match against each other, Vegeta has actually rendered Goku unable to fight. Vegeta only lost when Gohan and Krillin joined the first time. So technically, in a serious fight outside of sparring, Vegeta has never lost to Goku.
