Would be interested in seeing the gender breakdown of offering to help with the manual labor of cleaning the park.
ОтветитьDon't give money to homeless people, they will spend it on drugs
ОтветитьRare to see Hank and Mr. White doing research together.
Ответитьtbh if I was in that situation I'd think the kid was trying to cover for me and intentionally take the blame, given with how fast he spoke up.
ОтветитьThe virtue singaling of that guy omg
Ответитьimagine a universe where michael made his content for the years instead of mindfields
ОтветитьI like watching this guy when I'm high. Lol that rymes
ОтветитьIf you won’t do it around a child, it’s wrong.
ОтветитьThe thing about giving money is that you dont know what they're gonna do with it
ОтветитьZeus is clearly a goat
ОтветитьThe second experiment is so flawed for so many reasons. I don’t even think you can draw any conclusions from it. it just doesn’t work
ОтветитьI can't stand the idea of it being a good deed to give a homeless man money when a lot of it is just homeless people taking money for drugs or not even being homeless just standing to ask money
ОтветитьDo this experiment in Québec, Canada and the results will be totally different
ОтветитьThe true karma
Ответитьmy solution to moral licensing is to always ponder if my good actions are merely an evolutionarily advantageous facade intended to get me further ahead in life, and therefore the subconscious guilt of believing my goodness to be fraudulent outweighs the subconscious belief that I am intitled to making mistakes and doing wrong
ОтветитьDr. Kyle looks like Hank and Mike Erhmantraut fused.
ОтветитьThese experiments have huge flaws because they did not consider the backgrounds of the people involved in them. Fortunately, Vsauce raised the issue in the in the middle of the video.
ОтветитьThe one mind field that doesn't have comments disabled
ОтветитьI think the second experiment had some issues with it because the kid volunteering seems to confuse the participants. I think if someone were to rerun the experiment, I would have the researchers just blame the kid and maybe even have the kid deny it but he told that he did it Anyways, as it would be less confusing and give the participants a better opportunity to step in
ОтветитьA tradução para o Português brasileiro está ótima, só falta a tradução por áudio para o Português, como fez o Canal Veritasium.
ОтветитьWhen they tested moral licensing with the park clean up and then helping a homeless man, I don’t think I personally would have given a dollar to the homeless man because I’m always really skeptical of people begging due to how many cases I’ve heard about where they’re just lying and taking advantage of people’s kindness, but maybe I’d offer them a sandwich? Something besides just cash. I wouldn’t say I wouldn’t do it because “oh I just did a good deed I don’t need to do another”.
ОтветитьOmg, this video made me feel like i am a bad person for the the first time in my life
Ответитьthat girl from second experiment didn't freeze she just let the kid take the blame and then justified it... she even helps the kid by lying
ОтветитьVesauce and Hank shrader finding out who’s the cook
ОтветитьYou shouldn’t have let the worst participant opt out of the episode😂
ОтветитьMichael gaslighting me to be a good person
ОтветитьI find it very hard to relate to people who wouldn't even be willing to give up a single dollar.
ОтветитьJESUS WILL JUDGE THE LIVING AND THE DEAD. HE LOVED YOU TO PAY FOR YOUR HELL ON THE CROSS. IF YOU DO NOT REPENT AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL YOU WILL GO TO HELL. ACCEPT HIS DEATH ON THE CROSS AS THE PAYMENT FOR YOUR SINS BY BELIEVING AND TURNING FROM YOUR LIFE OF SIN. ONLY FORGIVEN PEOPLE ARE SAVED. CALL ON HIS NAME AND DEPART FROM YOUR EVIL.
ОтветитьThis show is Beakman's World on steroids 😂😅
ОтветитьWhile I believe moral licensing is likely real, I don’t believe the second scenario was an ideal test either. The motivation for the boy to take blame is unclear, sending people into a mental holding pattern of trying to resolve that puzzle before they can even start to consider the moral decision. A better scenario would be something that has no puzzles in it for the decision maker. An example would be if the scenario naturally started with mentioning the kid having a disorder or disdain for being there that could cause him to do something like that. Another better example would be if the mom accused the boy and he appeared to capitulate under her authority.
In any case, I’d never heard of moral licensing before this video, so thank you for that!
Ok can I just ask, wasn’t EVERYONE taught not to give money to homeless people and only give them actual food??
ОтветитьAnd the lesson: Don't do morally bad stuff, since you might just be in a psychological experiment and drag the results down!
ОтветитьWhat does it say about me that I caught myself planning to use information from this video to manipulate myself by morally buying my way out of foreseeable inconveniences that I feel morally obligated to
ОтветитьNow let Noah answer the door, and see if any of the participants take the blame for him, then cross reference that with the amount of money each participant donated to charity..
ОтветитьImagine explaining your entire weaknesses to some random person who seemingly Is giving you a massive pay and then just a minute later you just hear
“Hey [name] here, I’m Micheal I’m with mind field.”
I don't understand why the child "confessed" so lightning fast. I was taken aback by it and am sure those people were too. They haven't even processed at that point that they had let a thief in and probably didn't even have the time to recall they weren't actually supposed to let anybody in.
I think that most of the participants were more confused by it and so maybe the experiment wasn't as telling as it could have been.
jake be a really bad bad boy

ОтветитьWow, Kimberly is a mess of a person. The reason why things are messed up in this world.
ОтветитьIn the case of the people who refused to give the man money, but did try to help him out with food instead, they may be following the same advice I got when I was growing up. If a stranger asks you for help and they want money, the best way to help them, I'm told, is to find out what they need money for and get that for them instead. After all, you have no clue how they ended up in that situation, and you don't want to fuel any self-destructive habits that may have gotten them there. It may not be true for everyone of course, but that's the thing, you don't know, and that's likely the only time you'll ever interact with them
ОтветитьI don’t think giving a homeless person money is a moral act
ОтветитьMake season 4! We really love this show. Please make the next season
ОтветитьI had a terrible experience with a homeless guy when I visited San Fransisco. We were there wtih college for a "school holiday" and were roaming around with a bigger group on one of the last days.
Someone of our group who was walking in front of me, decided to give a homeless man his small change since we have a different currency in our home country. After receiving the money, he stood up, spit on me and yelled full volume in my face "F* You B*"... While I was just passing by him.
This made me not want to give any money to any homeless people anymore.. I thought they would be grateful. Nowadays I just say "I'm sorry, I don't have cash money on me".
Kimberly was definately the kind of person to go "Ugh, you lied? To me, seriously? No I- ugh..." and just leave when they told her it was fake XD
Ответитьi absolutely love these mind field episodes
