Im haveing a problem with land rover disco it runs hot not over heating but it idles hot and I have a very big suspicion it is my thermostat and am asking what is better to use the land rover genuine part or after market? Any help or opinion will be greatly appreciated

when i put antifreeze into reservoir it disappeared and it leaked nowhere underneath, terrified it might be in the cylinders?

I have a 2004 discovery land rover andy keeps overheating in the water keeps pulling out of the reserve 4 from the overflow I've put a new thermostat on it but it still doing it

i would like to know what is the classic signs that i will see when my thermostat fails. my car's temperature increases when it run standing in place or driving slowly. the temperature is o.k on an open road. sounds like thermostat problem to you?

Don’t bother replacing it with one of the supposed 180 degree thermostat he has in his hands because your rig will not run at that temp and will run around 200/210 which is borderline overheating in these rigs either go with the oem soft spring td5 thermostat or upgrade to a inline setup that uses a readily available Chevy thermostat and ditch factory plastic reservoir for allisport aluminum one

Would replacing the thermostat fix my heating issue when my vehicle? I'm not getting any hot air only light warm air when driving.

There is a drain bolt on these under the car. It’s not on the radiator but on a pipe lol

I’ve heard that the defender thermostat runs cooler and it’s best to replace it with one from a defender as the D2 engines are prone to overheating. Is there any truth to that ?

so glad he said to put a pan under it to catch the coolant. Never would have thought of that .
