This quick video shows the location of the A/C system's "L" low pressure valve (port) on the thicker (bigger) metal pipe in the engine bay of a 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 Kia Forte used to recharge the HVAC system with refrigerant (Freon). Most new Kia and Hyundai vehicles use R1234yf but you should check the sticker or valve cap to see if your older model year uses R134a.

Should that low side line feel warm when the engine is running? I'm trying to figure out an issue on my mother's car, her AC is not as cold as it should be, and the low side line feels warm and the high side hot, I'm thinking it's the expansion valve, but I'm not a mechanic, any suggestions? It's a 2017 Kia soul and the lines and expansion valve are identical to the one in your video.
