Yeah, a high budget definitely isn't needed to tell a compelling story and have fun gameplay. I'm glad this game is getting a lot of attention! I feel like a lot of high end games nowadays are lacking heart and Mouthwashing was a nice breath of fresh air!

I'm really not good with horror games, and even less so with psychological horror games, so having someone play it with me and digest it along with them and chat is an easier experience. So thank you, Tavi, for playing Mouthwashing! Hope we can get more games like these.

It's so interesting going back to this retrospective after seeing everyone else play this game. The story itself really does get a lot of unique opinions from the players themselves, huh?

This game lives rent free in my head, dear lord. I've been binge watching video analysis on the plot and characters and it's so interesting to hear so many different perspectives.
The title Mouthwashing is more symbolic than literal. It's meant to symbolize JImmy's desire to wash himself of guilt for his actions. Anya's remark about the sugar content basically neutralizing any disinfecting potential is meant to tell us that JImmy's constant attempts at washing the bad taste out of his mouth just makes things progressively worse as pouring sugar on open wounds just makes them worse.

I can be slow on catching symbolisms and the most obvious interpretations and such, so I appreciate your post-game thoughts and commentaries!
Listening to your thoughts again made me realize that the main thing that really got me was character depiction.
This game did a great job introducing the characters' personality through dialogue and little clues here and there within a short period of time and made them relatable/likeable/UNlikeable making the whole story hit even harder
