Thats crazy I went to the movies opening weekend to see both broken arrow and Hard rain. Me and everyone I know loved them both. I thought those would be his big hits you brought up. True Romance is definitely my favorite movie but its crazy to hear those flopped.

Hearing Christian Slater say "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" in The Wizard was priceless. Love how he was basically a regular cast member on Robot Chicken. His appearance in Archer is just perfect. Don't forget his TV show, My Own Worst Enemy, a short-lived series where he played a spy deep undercover who two lives would conflict with each other and stuff.

Untamed heart was decent. As were The Legend of Billie Jean and Gleaming The Cube.

I loved Hard Rain! It was a cool interesting action, thriller. With a great cast and full of cool stuff. CS, MF and RQ are awesome in it and Minnie Driver is such a babe and so smart and sweet and fiesty in it too. Surprised critics were so harsh... the late 90s were flooded with great action, thrillers though and the critics were probably just desperate to tare something down. For whatever reason. CS is a great Hero in it, he is so cool and calm and collected. Like a soldier taking on everything and never giving in to the easy way out. The boy scout charm and determination just oozes out of him, bad guys don't stand a chance.

Pump Up The Volume and Heathers were some of his best work. If he hadn't had the addiction problems, he probably would have gone a lot further with his career.

He also performed in the West End in London in the theatre production of One Flew Over the Cookoos Nest, where he played the role that Jack Nicholson famously played in the movie. I saw him in 2004 I think it was and he did a fantastic job. I wasn’t sure if I’d like it as I’d loved the film and obviously Jack Nicholson was phenomenal but yeh Christian also did a great job. I’m not sure how long the show ran in the West End but it was at the Queen Vic I think, could be wrong.

It's sad to see young actors ruin their careers due to drugs, ego and trouble with the law. Makes you wonder if their parents had much input in their children's career path. Are they just intrinsically prone to self destruction or does the movie business foster drug abuse and anti - social behavior??
