In capture age if the circle is blank they are enemy, just outer circle neutral or only one of them is allied, and filled they are both set to ally. Hope this helps for future viewers!

As the Celts, Ashur could have started anywhere in the British Isles, Gaul, northern Italy, northern Greece, or Turkey. Celtic tribes had a lot of spread.

This has some of EU4's chaotic energy and I love it.

The fact that Cuman Mercenaries was researched early and everyone kept making kipchaks for the rest of the game was one of the high points of this game to me.

You misunderstood what happened with the cuman "betrayal". Your assumption that he betrayed on purpose and sarcastically saying the he had to "accidentally" open the diplomacy menu to do that, you missed that he was setting every other player as enemy. He just set one more by accident
