English Patriotic Song - I Vow to Thee, My Country

Singaporean here and it is sad that england is really unlike the past anymore, greetings from commonwealth family!

Don’t understand why this isn’t the English anthem. Says more than God Save The King.

I'm so glad that someone I have the honour of knowing is creating a new version of this song , the backing music , orchestra is beautiful , unfortunately I cant hear the words , too echoey , even with the subtitles , I cant hear what they sing , its like Jerusalem , theres only 2 versions I can hear , both created by the person I'm talking about , n in my opinion , his versions are far superior in fact I call one my Original , n if it was not for him , I wouldnt have heard Jerusalem in the first place , I'm in my 50's ...........

I wish all English teams would have this beautiful song sung at England games.

Imagine it being sung by the home crowds at English rugby matches etc. Tremendous. The national anthem (‘God save the King’) is the “national” for Britain - not just England and ideally should not be played when England play other home nations, as if Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland were not part of the UK… They are!

This really should be the anthem. The current one is not an anthrm for the land or it's people , it is a song approved by those in power to feed energy to a bloodline that is not British - not English, not Scottish, not Welsh, not Irish, nor any mix of these, and has done this land and its people much harm. The people should choose their anthem . Their is this one and also other excellent contenders.

Every country has a song like this.

Every heart has a sound like this.

A beautiful performance of a lovely song. What a pity the hopes in the second verse don't seem to have a chance of coming true. The words were written by someone who served in the First World War when too many people made the final sacrifice - We Will Remember Them. I'm so sorry tht the hope expreeeed in the second verse don't seem to have a chance of becoming reality, at least not in this world.

Deeply in love with U.K. culture when I was a child, came to live here three years ago, enjoying very much the tradition and heritage here, but sadly my observation so far is that lots of British people no longer treasure their heritage and culture, and some seems to hate their country.

It’s lucky for the UK that they have such a storied history — because it’s the only thing they have left.

It’s adorable how the Brits still think anyone cares about them. Their entire little island has less economic, political, and military relevance than some individual cities I can think of. No cultural influence to speak of, and they can’t even speak their own language properly.

I’m not English but I feel every but of this song for my country. This hymn reminds us that service to country is service to God.
