For most of my adult life I have used the phrase "it's a curse" as an reason to justify many, many situations. And I usually embrace and accept idea of the curse, and move on.
The question that I had was, Dont broken and damaged souls deserve someone to give them a little bit of love , and find the beauty in them.? To shine a little light on them, even just for a few short moments in their life?
After all, isn't that part of being an empath?
Sorta seems like a "catch 22" to me. Avoid the people that need exactly what you have to offer

i was crying today literally as to why all my life I deal with drug addicts, alcoholic people, mentally ill and people from broken home yet I have none of these issue. I always helped and gave people but today after nearly 30 years I asked the question the big question...why me and why those people in my life? This video explained it. Thank you. Opposites do attract yet but we don't know we also have a free will. One does not have to take the burden of others. We need to learn to normalize that thought.

This didn't explain shit. My mom is also a good person and she always meets amazing people while all my junkie/divorced/in toxic relationship people always hit me up. Of course i cut all of them and completely stopped talking to them and got a new job. After 3 weeks at the job half pf the girls there overshare their problems to me and i never even asked them. There's gotta bw something written on our faces. This needs serious academic research. People always tell me i look strong and trustworthy, sometimes they make me feel like im above problems and im the only person who's advice they want to hear. I just wanna be left alone at this point.

This was amazing, it feels like a nightmare. Broken people run to me to fix their problems. And i have a difficulty saying no.

I learned not to interact with broken women alone. It ends badly if it gets intimate. Also, I don't want someone to think I'm their crutch.
