SOLVED: How to stop your motorhome/ caravan toilet smelling bad...

do you still use pink for flushing the loo or use this in both the cassette and flush

Fit a sogg system it ventilates the smell through a charcoal filter.

Get Lidl formal bio detergent capsules put one in after emptying worked great for me for years

I’ve tried it for a few weeks and I’m not impressed. If my motorhome remains static on site then it works well. However, if you set off on a journey with a half full toilet cassette then the toilet stinks! Solbio doesn’t seem able to cope with the contents of the toilet cassette being sloshed around. It’s not always possible to empty the toilet before each journey if you’re touring. Sorry Kat but I won’t be buying any more.

Tried it , doesn’t work , if your moving around / mobile , it does not work , if your in a static , suppose it’s fine , but if your in a RV/camper don’t bother , back to the non bio tablets and zoflora

Hi Kat, took your advice and tried this Solbio expecting great results, how disappointing this product turns out to be, expensive and does not do the job, the smell is good for a few hours and then becomes very offensive, we followed the instructions to the letter, we shall be going back to our usual bio fluid!

Sorry to be negative but I've tried it, it doesn't do what it says on the label, Yes it smells nice at first but after a short while it does not mask smells once you open the cassette slide even if you only do No1's in the loo we ended up using more fluid than recommended so it's not economical either, in my opinion it does not break down the solid material or toilet paper as good as other competitors environmentally toilet fluids, emptying the toilet cassette was the worst experience I have ever had

Love these videos,s of yours i have recently discovered you,i wanted to ask about breakdown covers and obviously, breakdowns, Do you simply use the AA or RAC for driving around GB or is there a better option specifically designed for motorhomes , Do you normally have your van fully checked and serviced at a garage before setting off, and what sort of milage have you on yours and what milage is a no-no to purchase, we are both seriously wanted to join this club of traveler thanks if you can help with any of these points,PS sorry its long.

Thetford aqua kem probably does the same. I don't empty every day..

But I see I can get this product here in Norway also,.maybe I should try it :)

This sounds brilliant! Im very new to motorhoming and was really confused about using toilet cleaners ie do I need to dilute etc... and can I tip down the loo. I havent emptied my cassette yet.....not looking forward to that job!! I've just ordered a pack. Thank you for the code. XX

What about the flush do you use water instead ?

I get very annoyed when somebody says "There are no chemicals in this at all." Even water is a chemical. Everything on earth is pretty much "Chemical".
If you want to say no harsh chemicals, then say so but don't say no chemical at all.

But that's my bit of OCD over and done with. Otherwise it's an excellent video. Much appreciated.

Only been living full-time in my mh for 5 months, and use Solbio because of the nearby septic tank I can use. Its expensive but worth it imo. I use it in the drains and grey water besides the toilet and it totally takes away any bad smells. Great product in my opinion.

Would you suggest putting some in the cassette between trips??

Even if it worked the same as the pink and blue/green it’d be worth it just for the fact that it’s safe for the environment. Oh wow, that sounds amazing! I cannot stand the blue chemical smell from our caravan loo. It's not poo that smells, it's the flaming chemicals. They can actually wake me up at night if my hubby has forgotten to shut the loo cover thingie off 🤣 We have just bought a new caravan & I went on here to find what others are using.... Hi there, just switched over to Solbio, let the cassette sit for 24 hrs with it full of water and a bit of solbio in as well. Just flushed it out and was thinking I still have the pink/red liquid in my flusher. Should I? Should this just be water now or water solbio mix?
