wow all three on par at 1440p except 380 the loner there..

well, i was going to buy gtx 970, so ill buy rx480 and upgrade to 1080 or whatever next year or two

I always wondered, do you use gsync/freesync monitors to avoid screed tearing or there are other ways to avoid it?

No GTA 5 Benchmark? Disappointing

What should I do? I'm going to play 1440 p, but I can't decide whetever I should buy the rx 480 (maybe wait for the custom of strix?) or go for the gtx 970?

RX 480 is an awesome card for its performance per dollar. But I was expecting it to come closer to GTX 980 in performance. If AMD really wants to steal the show from nvidia, then they need to come up with a graphics card at 350-400$ and performance close to GTX 1080 on 80 to 90% of the games... I will then call it a real winner...

AMD didn't say it would beat the GTX 980... They showed that 2 RX 480s together could have similar performance to the GTX 1080 or 1070 in Ashes of The Singularity while costing less at Computex this year.

Freaking retards are blaming the RX 480 for its poor overclocking capability being completely oblivious of the fact that this is the reference version with a crappy cooler. If you visit the review on eurogamer's website (DigitalFoundry), you'll discover for yourself that the 980, 390 and 970 used in this benchmark were all factory overclocked AIB cards.

People who're calling it a disappointment are mostly nVidia fanboys since as far as I can remember, nVidia never did a card with exceptional performance that wouldn't rip the masses. Its like the armorer that's exclusive to the order because most people wouldn't buy expensive GPUs such as the 1080 and 1070. And before people entitle me as a fanboy, I am running a 960, why you ask? Because the 380 wasn't launched back then and I don't give a rat's ass about the brand I am going to run unlike the overly flummoxed audience that nVidia has been hoarding over the years.

Overclockers UK have strix edition 970s for the exact same price as a reference 480 8gb card I wanna play bf4 at 1440p 60fps doesn't have to be maxed out

The 480 seems like a great card for it's price right now, but the price on the gtx 980 and 970 will drop segnificantly once the different manufacturers get their 1080s and 1070s on the market. It will still be a great card, but nvidea will still give them som tough competition.

in my country an RX 480 is about 310 euro, a little cheaper than a gtx 970 by 20-30 euro, but if i had to choose, i will still go with AMD FTW !

some of you are missing the point of the rx 480
its a great card for the money 390/970 performance and probably better than both in vr
not to mention that crossfiring it gets close to a 1080 is good

its like a 390 with cut in half power consumption. not to bad actually.
8 pin connector, better cooling and advanced drivers should really make a difference, with a little OC.

gday, do you guys happen to do benchmarks at Medium or High at 1440p with Motion blur off , HDR off , vSync off , instead of everything just defaulting to max settings at ultra ?

It seems that the 390 is to 1440p, about what the 1080 is to 4K.

So if you want to game in 480p you are supposed to get the rx 480? And for 1080 you are supposed to get the gtx1080? Is there a gtx 720? I want that one

I got 480 with 8 gigs of vram yesterday and I LOVE IT <3 Just wondering about moving from my 1080p TV to actual 1440p freesync monitor :O

My current PC crashed and don't really miss gaming on it.  But when I do get a new gaming PC it will be with the i7 and an rx 480 because I don't spend $500-$1000 on a GPU.  Also will be able to purchase an additional rx 480 in the future to expand system as long as a number of my favorite AAA titles support crossfire at the time.
