It'd be cool if the world could stay in their own yards for a year or two. That includes the wee dirty tactics of the CIA and such that aren't as blunt an obvious as the Argentines were in '82

Honestly, this argument by Argentina is pretty weak. Their claim and commitment to the islands is half assed at best, and they only care once they saw what others made of the place. If claiming proximity is justification, are they going to claim Chile is theirs' next because it's just next door to them? I hope they sort their problems out at home rather than make problems for other abroad.

The map of 1833 is wrong, all southrr patagonia was claimed by Chile, Magallenian straight was Chilean in 1843, southern patagonia and tierra del fuego, stolen by Argentina only in 1881 -1902

The why Chile helped the UK is something most southamericans ignore because the story has been told one sider. Argentina declared war to Chile in 1978, they did not accepted a laudo in 1977 and the invasion to Chile was on its way in Dec 78, Argentina. Also Chile claimed the whole Patagonia very early, reason why Chile possessed the magallenian straight in 1843 when argentina was only a territory in the north. Argentina occipied Patagonia and tierra del fuego finally in 1881 with a treat with Chile under war threat (chile was fighting 2 countries in the north) Chile could only by negotiations keep the very southern east patagonia and the southern islands that later the Argentineans also wanted in 1978. The nationalist argentinean posture has caused several conflicts and i wont be surprised that it happens again in the future, I hope kelpers and chileans could join forces again to keep their people save from invasion.

Maybe if the Spanish had staked their claim to the whole island after we left it (and then they never did) and the Argentine colonisers hadn't pissed off the some Americans who were there who were prompted to destroy the colony then they might have had a presence on the island which could have turned into them sharing the islands with us. But that sadly didn't happen.

Argentina used to have a claim to these islands centuries ago but they never pressed their claim which is usually what results in countries establishing sovereignty.

Argentina, has the weakest claim of any contested land in the world.

They basically had control over the island, once, for a very brief period. yet they put so much propaganda effort into it. its sad.

France and Spain have more claim to it, but it would also be laughable to argue that they "own it"

Its basically the same as giving Texas back to France.

The 93% that want to remain British should be reason enough to leave the matter alone.

If that doesn't matter than next war Britain should just annex all of Argentina's coast. because it clearly doesn't matter, who has claim to what.

The US support for Britain is actually largely a myth. They repeatedly asked Britain to surrender the islands to Argentina even while the British liberation was well underway. Even to this day the US repeatedly tries to force Britain into negotiations with Argentina.

It sounds like “Legality” in the view of the Argentine’s spouts from Spain: They are supposed to be in South America because They are Descendants of Spanish hey were no more “supposed to be there” Then the British. According to Argentina‘s 2022 census 2.83 percent of Argentinian are have native ancestry. They are invaders just like the English. They are just trying to change rules of the game for their economic benefit.

I genuinely don’t understand why the sinking of the general belgrano is so controversial. The exclusion zone was a warning to civilian vessels and aircraft. If you have an active combat vessel, unless it is in the national waters of a neutral country, it is a justified target.

I am an Indian, who immigrated to Canada, then came back home after seeing that it was a scam.

To all my Argentine friends, I want to say that, the Anglo culture is all about "stiff upper lip" and saving face. Based on my experience in Canada, which I thought will be multicultural and diverse, is actually racist and isolationary. Don't go by their words, see their actions. The whole immigration is a ponzi scheme like multi level marketing, to bring people for cheaper labour and increasing demand of products, services, and real estate. Same playbook as USA, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Portugal...

Remember the Brexit mania in 2016-2020? Yes that was a sham too, the EU was cracking down hard on tax havens, London and the offshore Channel Islands, Bermuda, and smaller Caribbean islands were all part of the scheme, especially after Panama and Paradise Papers. Notice how life has changed drastically for the worse since then, which was promised as for the best thing to happen in their history.

Not a single territory the British were that has been resolved peacefully, and conflicts still exist today - India/Pakistan, HK/China, Israel/Palestine, Canada/Quebec, England/Ireland, and the numerous countries of Africa.

The UK armed forces are actually mercenaries for the elites, billionaires who own the biggest companies - the Bank of England, the supermarkets, and the billions of dollars of oil and gas for Shell and BP. Recall that in 1951 the MI5 and CIA along with Mossad, overthrew the democratically elected leader who had nationalized their oil and gas. They installed Shah Reza Pahlavi, who was a Western puppet that allowed them to pillage the resources for almost 30 years, later overthrown himself by the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The same is happening in Africa with France - their armed forces are doing the bidding for the French elites, and billionaires who want the resources like gold, uranium, copper, nickel and more. Same playbook the US followed since 1945 in Vietnam, Central America, Middle East, and now Ukraine.

Finally karma has come back to bite them in the @$$ - knife st*bbings, b*mbings, drug addictions, homelessness. Mass immigration, gender confusion and cultural marxism, coupled with the disappearance of whites refusing to have children, while immigrants from third world have multiple wives and dozens of kids, refusing to integrate and being extremist iis their ultimate future. If they really cared about their citizens, you would not see their society collapse as it has done in the last 10 years. Their politicians, bureaucrats, judges, police, and armed forces all work for the elites and corporations.

Places like Dubai, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia etc. are already seeing droves of whites escaping their own country, as they cannot live back home anymore. The whites are already less than half, and within another 20 years max, they will be less than 1/4th. They are reaping what they have sown. What more can you expect when their own royal family is infiltrated with p*dophiles, like Prince Andrew and Jimmy Savile.

My only caution to you all in Latin America is be careful that they don't try to pull off the coups and regime changes to install their puppets like they did back in the 70s and 80, for your resources, which are rightfully owned by your citizens.

And finally, refuse all immigration, especially the whites who are soon going to be fleeing Europe, US, Australia, Canada, NZ, and Ireland.

It's also worth noting that Falkland's pretty much consist of rocky hills, wet ground, marsh land and has similar weather and temperature to several parts of the UK. The Royal Marines were not only used to such temperatures because of well... living in the UK, but they also trained for such conditions. i.e marsh land, rocky hills and constant wet terrain etc in places like Wales and Scotland. They were pretty much ready to fight in such conditions. Meanwhile, the Argentine forces weren't used to such temperatures and terrain in the slightest.

It's a given that eventually the Uk will not be able to hold onto the Falklands. By the end of this century, the U.K will not even be in the top 10 of major world economies and if Argentina ever gets it's act together, it may well be able to invade and take the Islands in the future and if the UK continues to decline at the rate it has since World War 2, it won't have the military capability to hold or retake them.
The Falklands war of 1982, was a close run thing and if Argentina could've bogged the British down and drawn things out, they would've won.

The Special Committee on Decolonization (UN) declared that the Malvinas were subject to the decolonization process, urged in 1960 by the United Nations General Assembly. In 1965, Great Britain and Argentina began to negotiate the future of the islands within the framework of the UN: London recognized, in fact, the colonial status of the Falklands, its only argument for delaying the reintegration of the archipelago to Argentina was the will of the islanders. The Crown no longer claimed title to the islands. The right to self-determination, raised by Great Britain in favor of the islanders, only arises in the case of a population that demands its independence: something that the 1,800 inhabitants of the British colony never did or could do. That was the last argument of the British government, which since 1910 had been retreating from its positions – inaugurated in 1833 by Lord Palmerston with a firm defense of the right of sovereignty of the Crown – until reaching the point where the conflict was reached when, The April 2, Argentina occupied the islands.

The British Empire was the FIRST DRUG TRAFFICKING STATE IN THE WORLD During the Opium War, it was the conflict between China and Great Britain between the years 1839 and 1842. The trigger was the introduction into China of opium grown in India and marketed by the British East India Company, administrator of India. UK, had the support of the US who were mediators, who gave them the AM9L Sidewinder missiles that made the difference, allowing them to use Ascencion Island, despite all the help from the US, the Argentine pilots sank 7 English ships, the destroyers CL 42 HMS Sheffield and HMS Coventry, the frigates CL 21 HMS Ardent and HMS Antelope, and more than 24 ships of the Pirate fleet were seriously damaged, including the aircraft carrier HMS Invincible, which the UK never recognized due to the shame they felt when they were ridiculed in NATO.
